Flying is hard

I hope we actually see something happen from this. I have really not been impressed with anything he has done.

A link from the comments section of the Register story linked above took me to this:

Good link. Lots of good information and actual quotes from people who know what they are talking about it. My perspective is that Leath brought some trouble on himself by some of his choices. However, I'm not fundamentally against him using an institutional plane for university business that also has some personal benefits. There is great value to having a president who can make drop in's on donors and consultants as needed. And it shouldn't surprise us that he has good connections in North Carolina. That is where he sharpened his craft regarding the development of the research park which has already been a great success in Ames.

Didn't one of the trips entail eleven days of vacation and four hours of University business? Leath has earned a full time vacation at greatly reduced pay.

Clearly this has conference expansion and coach hiring implications. Someone head to the airport right now.

Or that Leath is taking off for a long weekend and wants to make it harder for everyone to know when is misusing University property. (Jimlad sort of, well maybe not)

I didn't see anyone post this but on the news tonight they said President Leath donated more money to Iowa State to cover the plane damage and said he will no longer fly the planes himself.

I wonder if its related to not having a copilot along, as I think the insurance coverage requires it. Wonder why his wife doesnt get her license...

If she is like my wife she loves going along but has no interest in learning herself.
