It appears that Coach MacD knew what he was doing again by getting an early commit from this player. He set a school record by scoring 45 points in a game Thursday night.

I personally will be glad to have a role player that we can count on to hit shots when we need them, much like Hurl Beechum used to do. How many times have other teams brought someone off the bench to beat us ala Texas A&M last year.

I think Wes being a coaches son can only be an added bonus for us.

hmm... why was u down on that scholarship? How do u know he is only going to be a role player?

I was down on the scholarship because there hasn't been much fanfare when it comes to Eikmeier. Don't know much about him, and the less I know the less excited I am. I don't know if he'll be a role player.

And btw, what in the world did you do to get such an awful rep? Good lord, you must have pissed some people off.:rolleyes5cz:

You werent excited by a 6 3 shooting gaurd who as a soph avged 23 pts a game and did well in aau games? i think college oriented boards attract too many overly sensitive types.

Okay, Cobb's rep is self explanatory.
Question. How many 6' 3" shooting guards avg. 23 pts.? That alone won't make him our man. From what I hear though he's got that Jake Sullivan dedication. Keep him healthy.

He only hit 13 of 16 free throws in the 45 point game. Must have been fouled a lot.

I'll Take a Guy With BB Skills Any Day

IMO basketball fans & "recruiting experts" put too much emphasis athleticism and undervalue kids with great basketball skills.

This isn't meant to be a slam on Rashon Clark, but most fans look at his jumping ability and his highlight reel slam dunks and project him as some superstar. The reality is he's a slightly above average player who lacks one critical basketball skill- ballhandling.

Look at ISU's game vs. UNI. ISU had better athletes, but UNI had a kid who ISU & Iowa wouldn't offer a scholarship. In G-Mac's system have players with basketball skills will probably be more important than great athletes. If G-Mac can get guys with BB skills & athleticism- thats ideal. But if not- I think he'll take the guy who can shoot, dribble, etc over a great athlete.

Wes is a rated as a 3 star if that means anything these days. I think he will be a pretty good player for us.

tycobb makes simple assesment and his rep gets pulled in for reason not to listen........can the rep level.....it is worthless and bias.

If this is to be apolitical site great, but it is to be open and discussable, barring the posted guidelines.

Gotta love them clones!!

In that article it also said he was boxed + 1 and triangle + 2. I'm guessing those points didn't come that easy then.

A basket from 14 feet is worth the same as a monster dunk. In a BCS conference, having both is preferred for success.

I agree the rep level feature is worthless. I read thur the posts and some guy writes the same thing as someone else and their level shoots up while other do not move or go down, leads me to believe it is the buddy system you scratch my back I will scratch yours.
