BREAKING: Feazell commits

Recruiting has definitely gone down since prohm has taken over. I'm glad we got another committ, but we did go from landing lots of 4 stars and a few 3's to landing 3 stars as the majority. With 5 straight tournament appearances I was hoping we could land some top 100

I have believed this all along, that Prohm and Small have good connections down south and have been in contact with a number of prospects from the south. It makes a lot of sense to continue those relationships and leverage them.
That is a or at least was a big debate in the recruit list thread with some believing they need to focus more on the Mid West and the South kids wouldn't come. So far the staff has landed Carter, Lard (at least committed) Feazell (pretty good IMO).
There are still a number of targets the staff would need to get before we can say it is going to be a "pipeline region" for ISU but it definitely is proving worth while to spend time there.
I think that if they continue to recruit the south like they have, keep that "pipe-line" with Milwaukee open, and maybe start landing Chicago/Michigan recruits when we can, we will be in very good shape for recruiting going forward.

Really hope you're joking. I'd be more upset that he's not 6'10" if I were you.

Prohm's 2016 class was ranked higher than any of Fred's classes. His 2017 class could be the highest ranked class in Iowa State history.

Jimlad? I sure as hell hope so, because if you're serious then you're just flat out wrong.

He acts as if Fred was some great High School recruiter. He got Georges, Monte, Matt. and Naz yeah. but a few of his HS recruits transferred out to smaller schools as well. Where Fred was really good was his recruitment of JuCo's and Transfers, and how he molded them to fit his system. What Prohm is doing, is way more normal for a college coach. Recruit HS hard for the players you want to be the future contributors of your program, and pick and place JuCo's/Transfers for you position needs each year.

Please try to back this up with some facts. It's just flat out wrong. You're either a really bad troll, or...

Does anybody have any insight on the prospects of this kid's ranking possibly rising? Seems to be a good athlete that can shoot and defend, with decent height. Is he underscouted or is he truly more of a 100-160 kind of kid? Not that it matters. It just seems like, based on footage, there's a lot of potential with this one.

Hopefully plays a Jonathan Motley role type role.

Thomas was the best Fred recruit. In the 50ish range.

Morris and Niang are in the same range as Feazell and Lewis.

Naz wasn't particularly recruited. He was like a 2* or a low 3*. He's easily the best story of the Fred era in terms of taking somebody unheralded and developing them into a devastating offensive weapon. Turning that level of recruit into the leading scorer in a game between ISU and KU, when both are in the Top 10, is really super impressive. Good job with that one, Fred.

If our roster next year is something like...

Donovan Jackson
Nick Weiler-Babb
Ray Kasongo
Simeon Carter
Cameron Lard
Jakolby Long
Solomon Young
Darius McNeill
KeyShawn Feazell
Terrence Lewis
FRESHMAN PG
JUCO/TRANS GUARD
JUCO/TRANS POST

...then I'm going to be Yoshi-level super happy!

Looks like he was just re-evaluated by scout and 247, dropped about a point on 247 and dropped from a 4 to a 3 star on Scout...think this kid has great potential though!

He was actually just evaluated by 247. The prior number was his composite with three dots next to it indicating he had three evaluations. The missing one was 247. The fourth dot came in last night, rated 89 and 162 overall on 247 now. 90 on 247 is considered a four star. Overall Composite is 191 was 161.

You literally(used correctly) have no idea how recruiting works.

Or are a troll.

also, ejim, stinson, blaylock, garrett, naz, wes johnson, hamilton all 150 or above. So pretty much everyone weve had go to the NBA that was on our roster is listed in that until this year.
Ejim, Naz, Hamilton, and Johnson were not top 150 players coming out of high school.

I've been a member here since 2006 when the site started. You can look it up and confirm. You don't have to call people a troll just because you disagree.

I understand very well how recruiting works as I've followed it for the last 13 years

If you look up the players Fred brought in they were a lot of 4 stars compared to the 3 star players prohm is bringing in. I'm at work otherwise I'd list them out for you. Do your homework before you call people out.

Too soon.

I didn't watch the NBA draft, I assume Motley went No. 1 overall after seeing his two games vs ISU and only those games. The 76ers made the right choice passing on Simmons.

In the 5 years Fred was here who, off the top of your head, was a 4-star HS recruit other than the 2 mentioned already and Georges? I am actually curious.
