Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Had a fish & chips there a while back (maybe a couple of years?) I was getting carry-out. Took 15+ minutes from order to out the door (and there were only 3 people in there). The food was excellent though. I may give it another shot...I love fish & chips.

It did feel like it took awhile even for the burger and mash, but it tasted really good. One time we went in for carry out and had no idea that someone had called ahead for a huge order. It took forever.

Not a big fan of red hair, eh? Too bad for you!

I hated the cartoon, didn't care for any of the musical versions (if I never hear "tomorrow, tomorrow" again it will NOT break my heart). Don't think Annie is the choice for me.

I probably CAN stop it; I'm still figuring out the bells & whistles. Right now I'm more interested in figuring out how to reset the trip mileage. THERE'S NO BUTTON BY THE SPEEDOMETER!!!

And I'm just about past the point where I turn the windshield wipers on every time I shift into reverse or drive (Elmer's shift was on the column).

If you had a car named Elmer, then I think your next car should be Ethel. Just because. (Years ago I had a car named Ethel. She was the best.)

I'm not familiar with that movie

:jimlad:

Just went to IMDb to see what if I could figure out who he was talking about. The two girls featured in the promo picks were Mila Jovovich & Joey Lauren Adams.

Side note. I've never seen the movie. If I had, I might have realized that was NOT you and your brothers (or buddies) in your avatar. :)

I actually thought about Lucy (as in Ethel's best friend)...but it's too close to spouse's name.

Elmer got his name from the fact that after we bought him, we were looking at reviews (yeah...bass-ackwards, I know!) and several reviews mentioned that Luminas were popular among the senior citizen demographic. We decided (okay, *I* decided) that Elmer was a great name for a grandpa...and by extension, for a grandpa car. :)

Side note: I learned to drive in an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser (your basic imitation tank with a commensurate turning radius) that my mother named Gussie. Naming cars has a long history in my family. :)

I think I've named every one of mine with the exception of the first. Garth was my favorite pickup. Mabel was a great car that I had years ago.

Maybe that's why you have so much delivery trouble. If they're sending your stuff to Wisconsin but you live in WA that would be a bit confusing for the delivery services.

Also, I've never been to Seattle but I have been to Sioux Falls.

I was kidding. Someone else is from Puyallup.

I've only eaten there one time. Had the fish and chips. I thought it was good.

I have never named a car. I used to refer to one of my old motorcycles as "the rainmaker" Not a name, just seemed to get caught in the rain a lot.

Redhead from the gif I posted. She played the crazy girl in Wedding Crashers, and was the main actress in confessions of a shopaholic. She has voiced a bunch of cartoon characters, too.
She is also married to Sasha Baron Cohen. (Borat)
