I'm sure he does but I would never pay anybody to report on recruiting. It's so fluid, there is tons of misinformation, and a lot of kids say different things based on who they are talking to.

I just hope we get one of the PG's we are recruiting. We know Prohm can develop them.

Agree with this. Alex does a great job

I also agree with this. Just subscribed over the summer and love his coverage and access to that board. I won't criticize anyone who doesn't want to pay, but I'll also personally refrain from relaying any of the info from the premium board

Seems like just yesterday .... but 3 years ago a person working in Fred's program and I had a visit about how we would gain a lot of ground in the Minnesota recruiting area. Hate to say it now, but Pitino is getting it going, along with promised new facilities. So much talent up in that area for him to prioritize compared to our state. Will be interesting to see what he does with what looks to be a good 2016 class. Still hope we can pluck a few now and then.

There's a lot more talent coming out of the south. Prohm will soon pick Neill Berry as the new assistant coach. Good choice to replace Otzelberger. Both Prohm and Berry have very strong southern ties. If ISU has another winning season and deep tournament run we'll be picking off top southern 100's that otherwise get recruited SEC. A few more Cameron Lards will suit us just fine.

Yes, most of our staff has southern ties. But is that enough to consistently convince kids down there to consider ISU? Interest and visit, let alone sign. I feel like they are so insulated to SEC and ACC. Hope I'm wrong. Obviously continuing to win should make it easier.

I lived in Texas, Tenn, Georgia, and Florida over the last 25 years. Anyone raised south of the Mason-Dixon Line is a hard sell culturally. A lot of those kids have never seen snow so visits to Hilton in January gives them an OMG experience. Better have some grits, fried Okra, and a smooth talk'n southern man in Prohm or Berry to bridge the divide. It can be done and I think they will do it.

Why stop with just grits and fried Okra? Get some ham hock, black eyed peas, collard greens, hoecake and sweet potato pie? :biglaugh: Please, North Carolina....."tobacco road" is a bit of cultural change from Iowa, yet Harrison Barnes had no problem assimilating.

Just watched Collin Sexton's eybl game. He is insanely talented but from what I saw, he may be a bit of a head case.

What makes you say the second part? Is he argumentative and not a team player?

I may be wrong but it just looked like he was getting frustrated with his team when he didn't get the ball, and looked like he wasn't respecting his coach at all.

Anyone in this class known as a knock down 3 point shooter?

If they are, it's a crap shoot, you never know how guys will adjust to the speed of the game in terms of their shot and throwing off their timing. Malik Newman last year was supposed to be, but shot 30% this year, and Naz wasn't scouted as a deadeye shooter, just a decent all around guard, and he ended up being able to shoot.
