OT: Random facts that really surprised me

Wouldn't you rip apart from the ever-increasing speed caused by gravity long before you would dehydrate?

Well, ever increasing speed only occurs in a vacuum, in which case you'd never rip apart, because there'd be nothing opposing the acceleration and hence nothing to 'rip' you apart. In an atmosphere, the point at which the force of gravity is counteracted by wind resistance is called the 'terminal velocity'...the point at which you don't go any faster because the air resistance is so great, and assuming standard atmosphere and depending on your body position, is between 125 and 200 mph, or much less than required to rip flesh.

The average American person with a ***** averages about 7.2", despite scientists trying bring that number down for their own benefit.

Hot water freezes faster than cold water.
It's an old wives tale. People put hot water into the ice trays because is is supposed to produce clearer ice cubes.
I should test that theory next time I fill an ice tray.
One with cold and one with hot.

I thought it was the speed at which it froze that determined that? The slower it takes, the foggier it is.
