Re: Romello White to Visit Memorial Day Weekend

Just going to throw out that Georges and Monte didn't start until at least the B12 season and they're two of the best players in ISU history, so expecting any kid to come in and start from day one while averaging 25-30 minutes is a bit of a stretch.

With that said, hope he comes and is a monster on the glass from day one.

Re: Romello White to Visit Memorial Day Weekend

Crazy to think about the battle for PT if White were to sign, Burton, Bowie, Merrill, Lard, Young, Carter and White. That's more 4/5 type bodies than we've had in my memory. Hopefully that competition leads to one or two of the young guys showing they are ready to be starters in 17/18
I think Burton and Bowie are SF's that can play at the 4 rather than true post players. Even without White we have a lot more flexibility in the front court than some may have expected.

Re: Romello White to Visit Memorial Day Weekend

You'd think that this along with Hilton Magic, & Niang's national accomplishments would appeal greatly with this young man. However, Hurley has the "name" and Georgia...well it's in the $EC.

Doesn't matter. Football conference. Other than Kentucky and Florida, no one cares about bball.

While that may be true of fans, many high caliber players seem content to play for those other SEC teams.

But remember, Thomas will need to see minutes at the 3 considering how stacked we are at guard.

Sure doesn't seem to stop talent from going there. Counted about 20 kids in the top 150 going to schools in the SEC not named Kentucky.

Re: Romello White to Visit Memorial Day Weekend

Georgia has 12 total NCAA tourney appearances with a record of 7-12 vacated down to 5-10.

Good every now and then but mostly NIT material.

omg this is turning in to a calamity already! I've noticed some cryptic instagram posts from Matty Ice lately he doesn't seem happy with his role next year. He said:

"Five Guys all day e'ry day."

Seems to me that the starters might have a problem with the bench guys. A team divided.

I think a lot as to do with location. A lot of basketball talent in the South growing up with those schools near by. This applies in this situation as well as Georgia is in top consideration

2014 NCAA Basketball Average Attendance:

20. Iowa St. 14,192
84. Georgia 6,140

No kidding... that's an easy decision.

I sure love what I've seen from Prohm so far on the recruiting front. Sure, he hasn't landed a bunch of top 100 guys yet, but we're in contention for quite a few of them. We are in the conversation at least. Much more than can be said of what's going on over in IC. They don't seem to be in on anyone of any significance at all. I'd be ticked if I were an Iowa fan wondering what Fran is doing on the recruiting front. Is he even on the road at all, or just sitting in his living room hoping some top 100 guys will call him?

I don't understand how that reads all that bad, someone care to explain to my old ***? I thought it sounded like a team comment about 5 guys on the floor.

Hurley is just going to be another in the long line of former players for Coach K that thought they could coach. Jeff Capel is back as a Duke Assistant, Collins hasn't proven anything at Northwestern. Quinn Snyder was...well, ya know. Amaker is the only guy that has accomplished anything recently after leaving Coach K's nest.
