He's waiting to see if any of us notice his F-16 beer bottle opener and corkscrew.

Hungry now.

Heh, actually, the corkscrew was an issue. Went to look for it, realized we left it at the wine event at church last weekend. Thankfully realized that my laguiole knife has one in the handle.

Didn't have time to post this before leaving for work. Back to the bread topic again how does everyone handle the bag when you have gotten the bread you want out? Do you put on the twisty tie or spin the loaf and tuck the end under the remainder of the bag.

We use a bread buddy for the commercial loaves...tall tupperware-type tube, bread goes in, bag gets pulled around the outside, lid goes on. Take the lid off, pull down on the bag, bread rises to the top. We had to go that route because we had a cat that was crazy about bread and could find it anywhere, and scatter it around the house :)

As for the homemade version - love my bread machine, but PapaLew & I have no will-power. We make loaves when we're having folks over for supper, so that most of it gets eaten. Otherwise, it's the two of us doing all of the eating...WAY too fast...

Little00 has a buddy from pre-school, they're in different kindergarten classes, but they're like 2 peas in a pod. We got together with him and his mom yesterday. They live just outside of town, and I noticed they have a **** ton of dandelions on their lot that is right by the road. It's too big of a property to have sprayed for them. I'm seriously considering getting stuff to make dandelion wine tomorrow and stopping by their place on the way home from work tomorrow to pick dandelions. I bet I could make a 5 gallon batch from just the ones in their lot.

Just in case you didn't believe me...

Not gonna lie, that looks good.

*Hope my jealousy didn't come out too strongly on my previous posts.

So, I just got groceries. I didn't notice how soupy the peanut butter was.... it that okay or should I throw it out?

Is it the "natural" version? If so, yeah, that's normal. Speaking of which, if you're not buying the "natural" peanut butter, consider it. I noticed recently it's almost always cheaper than the conventional PB. Looks like they just swap out palm oil for the "partially hydrogenated whatever's handy" oil.

Naw, I know you cool, I think we can bust each others' balls every once in a while. I didn't mind your busting mine about being a cooking nerd and I hope you didn't mind my teasing you with my delicious meat products.

For our Wisconsin CFers I just watched the aerial america documentary on Wisconsin.

Among the interesting things discovered is that Wisconsin is known for cranberries, ancient grounds in the town of Aztalan, prior to OKC bombings the worst domestic case of terrorism was a bombing on the campus of Wisconsin in 1970, committed by 4 people one of which has never been caught.

Also the town of Milwaukee is a combination of 3 areas claimed by 3 different European settlers one of which made sure the streets running toward the river didn't connect with those to the east which is why today there are a large number of angled bridges in Milwaukee.

Some peanut butters are homogenized I think then there are the other kind that have some separation and have to be restirred(spelling). I would stir it and try it if it's off flavor toss it, otherwise I'd eat it.

BC did you get rained out this morning?

55 were you up at Okoboji for the drink picture last night?

Where CG? Did she not survive lawn work day?

Bread stuff, save the heels to keep the rest moist, then eat them last. I just twist the wrapper after opening then set the bread on the wrapper end.

Yep, was in okoboji this weekend with friends. Friends job has a condo there, that employees get to use. Met up with Omaha friends, cedar rapids friends, and a friend from Minneapolis. Laughed a lot, was a much needed get away.
