Sounds about right. The law takes very strange turns on the Left Coast (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Some weird variant of the Rule against Perpetuities? Actually that may be what you meant? I love the Rule Against Perpetuities--it is always fun trying to explain it to clients when they ask why the saving language against said rule is included in his or her Will or Trust. Usually, they eventually just shake their heads.

Academic Letter award ceremony tonight. There were 8 Olsons and 15 Johnsons (including stupid boyfriend... OK, he's not stupid and he was very nice to talk to tonight) listed, just as there should be in Minnesota.

kickball update!
First game of the season and first time playing spring. Two fall seasons our first games have been 0-16 and like 0-10 I think. So tonight we started a bit rusty but not too shabby. I fouled out my first up after trash talking DH who kicks before me. That was probably karma. Next kick I had a loaded count and got a nice kick to the left side. Safe at first. Next guy got me to third and then I ran home yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Third time up I was barely out at first, had to race the ball.
We won 7-4 so much improved!
and WDSM had his terms right. I was thinking that person between home plate and the bunt line was the shortstop, not the catcher.
As first base, I only had one easy catch tonight. I dropped/fumbled like 3 catches. No bueno, I need practice.
BUT, DH got most of the island dug out tonight, I put dirt into two areas so we actually got way more done than I thought we would.
oh yeah, Meow friend is playing kickball, yay! We were trash talking a bit and then she showed me how zombies twerk.
Fun evening and team we played was fun. Actually, one of the girls was chatting with me at first and she too remembered the **** team that would always run up to the bunt line on the girls.

So - if you just finished lip syncing, and you're wearing a very short dress (with a hairy cleavage), and you're sitting on a barstool watching your competition, it's very disconcerting that you are dangling a mic between your legs. I'm looking at YOU, Clark Gregg...
