OU opens -10.5

Didn't we lose in Norman last year by like 20? I am betting they win by double digits. We have been poor at stopping the open look 3balls and OU at home is very efficient. Add to it our **** poor rebounding and it could get ugly fast.

Our worst loss last year was at Kansas by 13 and the year before we dropped
25 to West Virginia. I don't see that happening anytime soon ... I hope.

Alright, all that football **** is out of the way now, focus on Conference MBB.

This is going to be a tough game, we have a 1 in 4 chance of winning. If we do it is a huge boost, if we don't we can be fine, nice having TTech at home next although they are going to surprise some folks this year.

I think we play loose and it is interesting. Could be a double digit loss just because we have to foul down the stretch.

I have to predict OU 87 vs ISU 72 with it probably not being real tight most of the way. I'd absolutely love to be wrong and love the Clones either way, but I have a bad feeling about how we matchup with them, how they've looked this year, and how we don't seem to have grown at all from last year.

This game terrifies me. OU is definitely a top 5 team and Hield has been lighting everybody up. I'm guessing he scores 30 tomorrow and OU wins by 11

We have a habit of playing to our opponents level. I think it's close. Either way, it will be nice to see how we play against top-notch teams.

Sounds about right.
We tend to play above our heads often enough to hide it, but OU is just a better team imo. We really needed to add some pieces in the off-season, but alas. Let's hope we are on fire and they can't hit.

This shows itself in our computer ranking as we're consistently higher in terms of wins vs quality of schedule than we are in predictive scores. Our 'predictor' rate in Sagarin is consistently lower even if the other components get top ten range. Also why we have trouble getting ranked high in Kenpom when teams that lose close games to good teams and blow out scrubs very often move ahead of us.

Still, we have the most wins against the Sagarin top 50 of any team without a loss to the top 50. This has also played out over the years as few (if any) teams have as many wins over ranked teams as ISU in the past 4 seasons. To me that says we're a bad bet to get smoked by a good team compared to just about anybody else, even though nobody would be favored at OU right now.

OU has really only played one good team, who they did smoke thoroughly. Iowa and Cincy are pretty highly rated by about any metric and 10-2 Colorado is surprisingly high in most of them.

We match up with them very well, IMO. Not saying we win, or that we are the better team, but we match up with them well.

We played 3 times last season and the score for the 3 games was a dead tie with ISU having a 2-1 edge. We can't be that horrible a matchup for OU, the teams are mostly the same key players.

I don't understand how everyone can be so down on this team. Not sure why everyone thinks they're going to run us out of the gym.

Losing to the #3 team on the road by double-digits is not being "so down" on this team. It is remembering that last year we lost by 11 and were down by 19 in the second half at one point. Our comeback at home was great, but Ou has shown the ability to " run" us.

Imo they got better, we have not.

Will Bob Stoops be there helping Lon Kruger coach OU?

And we outscored them by 26 in the second half that game. Does that not show our ability to "run" them? Other than those two halves, these teams played very even basketball against each other last year.
