More new coaches confirmed...

I don't get this obsession. What if neither one of them have any interest in being brought on in some capacity?

At a minimum Seneca says every week, on live radio, that he wants to be on the staff. He has said that he's reached out to Campbell a few times.
Seneca has connections to Texas high schools, went to a JUCO, then starred at ISU, and had a decent backup career in the NFL. Who wouldn't at least look at him as an option as a position coach?

What position?

Apparently every D1 college football coach in the country.

I think its an ISU thing for him, not necessarily a college job. Not a snide question but have you listened to him on the radio? I think his tone indicates he really enjoyed his time in Ames a lot and his wife is from around here somewhere.

So, recruiting area: Dallas/Fort Worth . Isn't that what everybody has been wanting?

I had no idea he expressed interest, which is interesting. I have nothing against Seneca, I just don't think the timing is right.

Why would a former head coach take this gig and not at least be the OC? Makes no sense.

The skills and personality required to be a Head Coach are not always the same as what it takes to be a successful OC or position coach.

He's didn't do so well as the HC at Buffalo, so maybe he's ok just being a position coach now.

I love Sage and Seneca, but Campbell needs to hire coaches he knows can do the job, not guys he hopes can do the job because they were good QBs for ISU back in the day.

If these guys really want to coach at ISU some day then they need to start working as full time coaches somewhere, anywhere, and work their way up.

They shouldn't get a coaching position at ISU just because the fans think it would be neat.

I have no doubt that with the experience they have from the NFL, that they COULD be really good coaches. But they shouldn't learn on the job at ISU.

It may not be right. Sounds like he has some involvement on a HS team in Texas that is pretty good. I know that doesn't necessarily translate to the B12 but he sure is politicking for a job. He says it quite often, and it's good to know that he would want to come back here. I'd much rather have ex players want to come back than not.

Austin Flynn was a Texas native and has done OK at Grandview the last couple years.

Roughly a month ago, Sage was on Omaha 590. When asked about coaching at the college level, his answer was along the lines of not right now (having too much fun with current family life); he had a sense of the time commitment for coaching on college level, and was not willing to sacrifice his current family life at this time. Did not rule out coaching in the future.

I said I'd like ONE OF OUR NFL QUARTERBACKS "brought on in some capacity," not "how bout we make them co-head coach and passing game coordinators."

I love CyFan, but sometimes ya'll are a bunch of ********.
