GTO/00, how do you cook pigeon peas and what do you eat them with?
With rice is the best way to make them. Basically mix them in with your rice once it starts steaming.

2 cups rice
3-4 cups water
1 cup/can pigeon peas (Goya brand sells a good can of them)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 sliced red bell pepper
1 packet of sazon or sofrito (if you have any) - you can skip this item if you like

Wash your rice twice and drain it. Stove on medium-high heat, add oil and stir fry the rice for like a minute until golden. Add water, pigen peas, peppers, sofrito/sazon, and salt. Stir everything. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cover. It should take about 20 minutes for the rice to steam. Don't be afraid to stir here and there and check on it frequently after the first 10-15 minutes.

Rice and pigeon peas go best with pork. Try with a nice pork loin or pork chops.

Day 1 in the books.

Rewarding by eating two white fudge-covered Oreos and waiting to see CHIvGB highlights.

Also problem...husbanf already asleep, snoring heavily. It'll be difficult to fall asleep.

I spent way too much time just reading the first thousand or so posts of that first RTT.

I think Sara should get credit (or blame to some) for it becoming what it is now. She was the first to post a truly random thought. Before that it was mostly a Friday Confessions thread (which I always loved as well).

It's funny going back and seeing how our posting styles kind of have changed since then. Everybody's really has. Except probably CG. She was still the same rambling, often incoherent stream of conscious house building Rum Brooklyn she's always been.

Also, what happened to Bugs?

Up and signed in for work, hopefully it is a slow day. Also, Sophie is really not digging this whole grass covered in ice thing that Omaha has going on right now.

Sounds good Thx for the recipe.

Soooo...back in the day (mid 90's), BBS's were very popular on college campuses. They were combination IM with a rudimentary form of message board like CF. Instead of threads, we had "rooms". I happened to be an admin on a smaller BBS where we had a Non-Sequitur room. You could post anything non-sensical you wanted, but it couldn't relate in any way to a previous post. Therefore, I looked at RT as modern day version of Non-Sequitur.
