I know this gets brought up every year, but once again, the concession stands at Hilton are atrocious. Missed tip-off last night because it took 15 minutes to get 5 people through the line. Do they not give the volunteer groups any training on how to run a concession stand? I've worked volunteer concessions at Little League fields in the past that were 10x more efficient than those at Hilton.

Maybe it's just the southwest concession, are any of the others better?

From experience, no they don't. You get like 5 minutes on where the supplies are, prices, running the card machine, etc. Hopefully you have somebody in your group that worked fast food/retail growing up and can actually count change. I get that it's cheaper and helps out groups with fundraising, but it does seem like it could be way better organized.

Some lines are better than others. Like was said, depends on experience of the workers. Haven't gone to the concessions since they switched to Pepsi.

There is no understanding of multi-tasking. People in front of me had a large order, the girl running the checkout gets them their soda, and then turns around and watches the prep people pull together the nachos, popcorn, and hot dog (none of which were already prepared mind you). Meanwhile, I just wanted a soda, which could have been paid for and filled will these other peoples food was put together.

The concession lines werent good at all, agreed. I did like the new Johnny's renovation they finished this summer. I hadnt seen it before last night. Now the Johnny statue is in view of the inner concourse.

IMO, it's not just Hilton. Maybe it's exceptionally worse than every where else, but every time i go to a baseball game, NFL game or Hockey game, I'm blown away by how long it takes to give someone a pre-packaged hot dog, a drink and take their money. I just assume it's because they aren't paying the people squat and serving $7 hot dogs all day gets you pretty ticked off that after you sell 2 hot dogs and 2 sodas, they've pretty much paid your wages for the evening. I just assumed that instills a bit of a "Why do I care" mentality since this obviously isn't the type of job you really have to worry about keeping.

Hell, at the Bears/Vikings game I orderd nachos, a pretzel and a bottle of water. He took forever to get me the nachos and disappeared to get the pretzel (10 of which were right behind him in the warmer) 5 minutes later I had to ask the guy why I still didn't have my water. It was still behind him in the cooler of waters.

I have a feeling most of these workers don't mind ******* you off, because their goal is to not have you come back and buy anything. It makes their job easier.

Okay. Here is the deal. Have about 12 concession areas. They need three hot dog concessions, three hamburger concessions, three nacho concessions, three chicken tenders concession. You know where they are. You can size the line length. It would probably be more efficient.

Now where do you get a pop? Coffee (yes, my mom drinks coffee at games, and you can't find it, usually)?

I agree - even when it's not a packed house (like during a VB match), the lines move so slowly.

If they would just let us bring in our own grill and set up on the concourse, problem solved. :jimlad:

WTH are you guys talking about. The only concession stands that matter are for clone-cones. And I think they do a good job!

They must have gotten a good deal on the mix for that, cuz they are piling it on this year over by 203!

They should come in a bag, just like walking tacos.

Not to derail, but am I the only one confused by the "Walking Taco" thing?

A taco is a pretty decent travel companion as it is, especially a soft shell. The one time I tried a walking taco, I found it a lot harder and messier to try and eat than just a taco. Taco chips just aren't meant to be eaten with a utensil.
