Old guy morning listening to Minnesota Public Radio Friday Roundtable. Today they are discussing Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan. Terrific album that just turned 40. Reminded me of living at 203 Campus and spinnin' this on vinyl with a couple buddies who are still friends of mine.

Just map googled 203 Campus. Cannot believe that cockroach infested POS is still standing let alone being occupied by human beings. It was a falling apart firetrap when I lived there.

Well, I'd cross law school off of your future goals list...
Not necessarily. We all go through a character fitness thing (where you need to disclose everything illegal that would show up anywhere) but something like this isn't going to keep him out. Now BDK, if you were caught, went to law school, and didn't let them know, you'd probably be royally ****ed. Because the bar would find out you lied to the law school and them and good luck being admitted after that.

Woo - Can you check this one out?

I know this is an especially difficult subject when discussing the law so I can run it past one of the judges here if you're not comfortable commenting on it.
Cybirdy probably has it right with theft. Probably also trespassing. At least, if I was a DA and I was going to charge him, that's what I think would be the best fit.*

and BDK, you probably shouldn't disclose criminal actions on a message board. Just throwing that out there

He said, "What were you arrested for, kid?" and I said, "Litterin'"' . . . .
And they all moved away from me on the bench there, with the hairy eyeball
And all kinds of mean, nasty things, till I said, "And creatin' a nuisance .
. . " And they all came back, shook my hand, and we had a great time on the
Bench talkin' about crime...............
So when I heard this song I completely missed the protest aspect of it.

The teenage daughter informed me last night that teenagers are starting to buy old-school record players. One of her friends bought one and also bought the latest One Direction album on vinyl. Bob Dylan would not be happy about this development.

I told her that she could borrow my old Asia, Boston and Ozzie albums if she so-desired. I also used to own this album:

I feel like I've been missing all the fun today.

In other news, I'm getting dragged to a Jason Aldeen? However you spell it concert. I am not thrilled about this.

I am going to Wicked and fancy dinner with a group of friends. Then we are hitting the town. We have been looking forward to this since the summer. Couple last night said they are going to try and get DH drunk tomorrow. But I said then who will drive?!?!? They are like we have an air mattress. It should be fun, these people are so fun.

Wicked is amazing. We saw it twice during its Chicago run.

My twelve year old told me the same thing this week. She wants a record player. So of course I said "cool!" Now I can dig up my old albums and annoy the hell out of her with those too.

The reviews describe it as a "Mad-Men" type of atmosphere, so a retro-style steak, chops and burgers restaurant probably describes it best. It has been in business for more that 100 years but only one of the group has ever eaten there. I did have a couple of drinks there once when I was younger and dating a waitress that worked there.

Now the Mpls crowds is guessing what establishment.

Monte Carlo?

My 12yr old just wants old GnR cassettes or CDs at this point, no vinyl yet. She also wants to learn how to play electric guitar. The first song she wants to learn is Back in Black.

I love that she has her own interests and follows no one. Her "squad" was texting "So are we doing the super hero thing for Halloween?" (Wear a super hero t-shirt then make a coordinating tutu skirt). Mine was all, "No thanks, I'm going as Axl Rose" and they were all like "Who?!"

The kids learned who Axl and Slash were last year at this time when my wife and a neighbor dressed as them for Halloween.

Correct and quick.

Because I also used to go out with a gal who was a waitress there! Which proves this is an old establishment.

She used to take me to parties with the owner and old man Dorsey of Dorsey & Whitney lawyers. Rich old bastards who would be serving Dom at their little gatherings up on Mount Curve and liked to hang out with the young waitstaff from Rimarcik's restaurants.

the wife of the country duo Joey and Rory has battled cancer a couple times now and now it sounds like she's not responding to treatment anymore. I always liked them and they had a little girl with Down's a couple years ago (plus two kid's from Rory's earlier marriage). It's so sad, they are such a sweet couple.

Her name wasn't Sue was it?

The picture is too fuzzy to read the titles, but I'm going to go out on a limb here & say that I might have a few
albums by the original artists.

Weekend plans--grocery shopping, last softball tournament of the fall, working on a science project for the 4th grader, and attempting to clean the toy room. Unfortunately no fun dinners out or Broadway musicals to attend.
