Take ISU to cover against Baylor!

If this turns into a ground game, yes ISU still loses, but the score will be within 37, which is the point of the thread.
That being said, I think Baylor's passing game would succeed on an ice rink.
I read a gambling article awhile back that did a big study on adverse weather affecting game lines and overs. Surprisingly, rain has almost no affect on the outcome of the spread or overs. The logic was that it affects everyone equally, if Baylor was faster and stronger than Iowa State in no rain, they are still faster and stronger in rain.
Who knows if the logic is spot on, but you can't argue the percentages and facts that the article cited indicating no affect on lines.
I do believe heavy snow had a large affect.

I should clarify, expect HEAVY rain in Waco on Saturday. That will certainly hurt both offenses, cause more fumbles, botched snaps, INT's, etc. The under is also a good play in those conditions, but Baylor won't roll in heavy rain like people think they will. Lots of punts in this game.
First of all, we should never, ever punt to Baylor. What's the point? Secondly, if Baylor doesn't put up 70 and hold us to less than 10 they will surely fall in the polls. So expect them to come out swinging. They will be doing everything that we won't to ensure the blowout. We should be the team doing everything differently. That is the only chance we have ...
I wonder if astroturf and field turf have anything to do with this. A natural surface can be a mess in heavy rains, but those are practically immune to rain. Also the gloves they make are practically like a stickum these days. Seems like you should still be able to catch the ball in any conditions with those.

I think I may have read the same one. The thing is, this looks like a massive amount of rain, and Baylor is an abnormally speedy team, so maybe it will have more of an effect on them than it would the average team. That being said, if ISU isn't able to run then ball, then that 37 starts to look pretty small regardless of the weather.

Yes, a good forecast for ISU. Unfortunately, Paul Rhoads was in charge for preparations for this game and will have the utlimate say in any adjustments that are made (or not made). Therefore, Baylor will cover regardless of the conditions.
When my oldest played middle school football, they lost to their "arch rival" 56-0 in seventh grade. (They considered the other team their arch rival but they were so pathetically bad, I don't think the feeling was mutual.)
