Recruit Lists v2.0

If this article gives any indication on where we stand with Simpson, it sounds like we should get him. If Simpson signs then I expect a flock of recruits to start signing very shortly after he does. Most recruits will want to play with a good floor general.

Lol you expect it? Recruiting rarely makes so much sense. And we're still Iowa State - not Kentucky or Duke.

Eerily, Prohm's last PG was listed at the same size out of HS. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Cameron-Payne-143720
And measured a tick under 6'1" at the NBA Combine so maybe the kid will grow more once he is on campus. Or Payne's original measurements weren't accurate. the point being that anything under 6' and about 175 or so is pretty small in power conference hoops. certainly not a limitation of anything, merely a statement. There are plenty of very successful college players in that size range.

Yeah, I agree it is small, and he's probably more likely to be 5'10" instead of 6'0". It would be bad if he would end up having to guard a guy like Kane or Burton. That being said, I've read some research that showed that lacking height in the guard court doesn't really hurt team defense like lacking height in the front court, so I'm generally not too concerned about short guards.

When you see a listed height for an athlete, you can more often than not assume that they are giving them an inch if not more.
Ya I was listed at 6'3" in the baseball roster in high school... tallest I've ever measured at a doctor was 6'1"

we "should" get him? hmmm.... Recruiting articles are about as predictable as slot machines. But hope your optimism proves to be true.

I was 6'3 and a half, but whoever put the roster together had only met me once, so the basketball program said 6' nuthin
same I was 6'3 my freshman year when they took our heights for the program, by senior year I was 6'5 185 and still listed at 6'3 170. quite annoying for the other teams SGs when they set up the matchups for the games. I guess it could be a good or bad thing depending which way you look at it.

They had me over on height by an inch to inch and a half, but as I mostly road the bench, don't remember another team ever complaining about match up problems.
