Needing some advice. Is Wisconsin Dells a good getaway? I've never gone, but I need somewhere to go for a long weekend and the website makes it look like there is a lot to do. Daughter is seven, almost 8.

If she likes water parks, mini golf, go karts, etc.. she'll be in heaven. Haven't been there for many years but it a fun getaway for family outdoor stuff.

And that, folks, is why flying is one of the safer forms of transportation. Something had to go wrong to even get them in the vicinity of something like this happening.

When you are VFR you try and follow those rules as much as possible but in that case see and avoid is not perfect. Last year I was flying my uncle from Wichita down to Tulsa. We were looking outside but I didn't see this Cessna 172 or 182 cross perpendicular to our path directly below us. Probably about 200 feet difference.

I pretty much always get flight following to have a second set of eyes but our transponder wasn't working right so it was worthless in this case.

in other news, we have to finish up concrete/landscaping to close and our builder is pushing it dangerously close. The work they've done has been very good but they have pushed every deadline we've had - and we already extended our lock for 30 days and we are waiting until day 30 to do the close to allow them to get their final draw and stuff in. We've been very patient but I will flip absolute **** if they miss this extended deadline and we have to close at 4% instead.
