Random Thoughts IV

up and down weekend - mostly up. Lots of driving yesterday, good time at the wedding and stopped in CR to see DH's friend and wife. We had to take a detour because a semi accident closed the off-ramp so at our alt I realized we were at the light in front of the Coralville mall. That was a sobering moment.
Then found out that one of our newer friends up here (the one I mentioned was breaking up after many years together and we may have to pick how to stay friends with both) had his mother pass away. He's our age and she was younger than either mine or DH's parents. I wish I could say I knew how to handle this. I think they want people to come to the visitation/funeral but it is a multiple hour drive on a weeknight so I have no idea how we can make that work. I don't want to just be a fair-weather friend by DH and I are not experienced (thankfully!!) with this one.

I got everything done and wasn't sure how long to have it in for. She called right as I was going to put it in at 350 and just keep checking on it. All is well now.
BOOM. You need to work on this stuff...dude's gotta be able to take care of hisself. She can't trust you alone, she's never trusting you with the kiddo.
reading back through the pages and thought someone said Janny was being slightly icky in a WBB thread. Made way more sense when I found the thread and realized it was Jamby. Made way more sense then.

I had two additional ISU ag college friends get married, I see Bret was at one for another girl I knew, sister of another friend got married, an advisor of several younger college friends got married........it was apparently the day for ISU ag (and just ag in general) peeps to get married. Several people at the wedding yesterday had to choose between which of the three or four to go to.

Ahh, okay. I was thinking we might have had a random passing moment like me and Rev in Ames. Albeit not standing next to each other like that. At noon, I would have been eating lunch at home, but 2:45-ish, I'd have been at the I-80 westbound exit for the mall.
we were right in front of the mall - yeah had to go back west an exit because a semi went off the ramp it looked like. We were leaving CR right around 2:45.
and I just have to tell Cash his area is remote. I mean, I didn't grow up in the city, but is there anything big closer than CB or DSM? That's a long haul to buy your kid shoes or stop at a Target.
So, they ran you back to Tiffin, then over on highway 6 to the mall, then back to 380 north via 80 westbound? That must have sucked with the construction in Tiffin...well, I guess maybe not so bad since it was just the people tryin'a get to 380 northbound.
Walnut is only 30 minutes from CB and is right on the interstate so it isn't too bad. No Targets really around there.
we made a big U, so instead of getting on 380 north from eastbound, we got off at the next exit which was right in front of the mall, turned left to get back on the westbound, and went 380 north from that.
I can handle myself. Being a little dramatic on here. She did say the recipe is in the recipe box. Honestly didn't know we had unpacked that.
