Hoiberg Watch 2015: Thursday, May 28 Thread

I think there was a team meeting to tell the team when none of them were actually in town?

And it would it be too much to ask for Dandy to tell us who the freaking assistant was that left the stupid golf outing.

Damn. That sucks if we lost Diallo and Williams because they were told Fred might not be here. We would have been insanely stacked with those two players, and Fred as coach.

Taking my son to basketball camp a week from Monday has the potential to be interesting.

No time to re-print the materials, so the "Fred Hoiberg" on the Fred Hoiberg basketball camp info will just be scribbled out with a sharpie and

Heck, I don't know, but got you to open the spoiler

will be scribbled in above it.

This is ABSOLUTELY not true. Please find ONE link / quote where Hoiberg talks about the NBA. The only indication was that his buyout for the contract was 500K for an NBA team vs 2Mil for college. THAT'S IT.

Hasn't Jamie basically quoted Fred to that effect? How else would Jamie know that the NBA was always where Fred wanted to end up?

Haven't you been wrong before, like completely off base wrong?

I don't want to dig through the threads but I remember people not liking you for awhile.

Yes I was wrong earlier regarding Hoiberg telling the players.

I don't think I said anything too earth shattering in my golf outing post that it needed to be torn apart right away.

Some of you people are relentless.

Yep.... thanks a lot Fred. You could have hung that banner you talked about, but now you're last game will be one where you were severely outcoached by flippin' Jarrod Haase and lost in the first round to a team WAY less talented than yours.

I really feel for the players.... especially Niang, Long, and Morris. I completely understand why so many players transfer these days.... nobody is loyal to them, so why should they be loyal to anyone? Coaches think only about themselves, and it doesn't even matter if it is your alma mater where you grew up and were a ball boy for either. No loyalty.

Fred can save me the pathetic press conference where he'll explain how sad he is to leave ISU and these players that he's become so close with over the years. It's pretty meaningless and empty IMO. Just do what you have to do, but don't act like you didn't have a choice..... you did have a choice.... you could have stayed in Ames where you claim you love it and was your "dream job".

Reminder: I will take anyone's season tickets who doesn't want them next year.

Pick a fight with Fred to establish dominance, and force him to stay.

I heard a quote from Gar Forman this afternoon after the Thibs announcement that I thought was telling. He said they were in no hurry, and that whether it was tomorrow or next month they were going to get the right guy. (Most of that is a rough paraphrase except for the "tomorrow" part.) I don't think he'd have included "tomorrow" in that comment unless it was possible that it could happen tomorrow. Whether it happens tomorrow or sometime later, I think they know now who their guy is. Who knows, though, maybe they'll have a problem with the contract terms.
