whoa boy, is this going to be the nuclear thread or is that still coming when Hoiberg actually leaves?

No because he was NOT committed to the job or doing the current job he is paid to do. He should have resigned at the end of the season. Period.
And we used him. It's a two way street just like most employer/employee relationships. I think it's easy to see why Fred's recruiting was so bad recently though.
He won't come back to college. He's going to retire after a few years in the nba, imo.
If he would've lied to CD, CD would've changed his commitment anyways.
Question: What is the fred tracking website address again?
Let's not forget how big of a dumpster fire our program was when he took over.
I'm not going to change my opinion of Fred due to the aforementioned article, as that doesn't necessarily mean that he was decided at that point. I'm taking it as an honest answer, and that there was at least some consideration of leaving at that time.
That's not how this works. He didn't have an actual 100% offer (still may not but it's 99.9% now).
It's no different than when you or I work for company A and are sending out our resumes for other jobs.
Correct. If he really knew he wasn't coming back he should have stepped away. But I am guessing he merely said he can't promise that he will be here next year because it was a possibility for him and not something that was set in stone. No because he was NOT committed to the job or doing the current job he is paid to do. I agree. Although if you were really on the fence (ie. 50/50) you likely wouldn't tell that to a recruit. If you were strongly leaning towards leaving, you might.
I'm glad he didn't lie to the kid to get him to Ames. But this **** show has been going on for too long now. Time to move on.

If the success continues, I'll agree it worked out in the long run. As of right now, Fred might have cost us a serious chance at a National Title next year.
It was in the register.
Quote was from Thomas
If Hoiberg leaves I will have lost a great deal of admiration and respect both for he and Pollard. How can "being a head coach in the NBA since Day 1" have been Hoiberg's goal when at the exact same moment in time coaching at Iowa State was his "dream job"? Would he and Pollard just plain bold face lie to us?:

Hoiberg said about his newly appointed position. “It is my dream job and I have been passionate about Cyclone athletics ever since I can remember. Having a chance to come back here after being a ball boy and playing in front of these passionate and great fans, and now having a chance to coach in front of them, is a dream come true.”
I guess it is fairly obvious why we have no players for 2016 now. I'm not sure why he told Diallo the truth and lied to Matt Thomas though.
