Full disclosure, that's a christian book, lest I be accused of 'trying to convert' you like Pantsy did.

The book club is thru church, it's a book club/mom's club.

I think I'm going to have to read that book. I'm typically pretty shy as well. It can be frustrating to have people comment on your shyness despite how well intentioned it is.
I used to be shy and kind of self-conscious. However, somewhere down the line, I think I stopped giving a ****. Now my work is all about presentations, client meetings, client dinners, customer relations, networking, etc. I think my work kind of pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Oddly, outside of work, I'm still not that social. I mostly prefer to keep to myself and my family. Even though I have friends outside of work, I can't say that I actually do that much with them. My wife pretty much has to push me to interact with my friends. Not sure what that all says about me, really.

I worked tonight on putting the baby crib back together again. Took forever to find all the parts that had beeen stored for 4 years and about 45 minutes to put together without the instructions.

Down to 3 name options: David Alexander, Alexander Matthew, and Alexander Joseph. I'm leaning towards David Alexander.

nah, we can't be friends in person and go out for drinks so it's only 57%

I do have a bestie but she has two toddlers and a farm. And she's two hours away. Boo.

My two female friends here both have kiddos, I understand that pain. That's one of the reasons I'm excited to go back to Omaha..single friends to get drinks with.

that flows quite nicely. I like Alexander James. I like the Joseph option least of the three.

I mean, I love her kiddos but we are just geographically and work-wise too far apart. I can't do weekdays and she's got chores both ends of the day. We see each other when we can and it's awesome, but nearly often enough. She'll come up once this summer though, and we'll probably be at two of the same weddings this summer so I'll probably see her more this summer than since college.

so whomever it was, you joke about me being desperate to make friends - when we went out with a former coworker of DH's and his wife a few weeks ago, the wife was like I want kids so I can have friends. It was pretty funny, I think she and I will get closer over time if that ever happens. They've talked about moving out of state. She and I get along nicely when we're together.

but yeah, at least I haven't been like trying to get preggo to have future friends.

Yeah, Alexander Joseph is my least favorite as well. Also tossed around Alexander David as an option. We'll see. I think my wife is starting to get irritated with me not picking a name.
