My MBB short list for coaches.

If you were JP and always had to have a short list who would it be?

Mine would be T.J. Otzelberger, Bobby Lutz and Doc Sadler if he would be willing to keep the uptempo process.

That list is awful. I mean awful. Awful.

Jay Wright isn't going anywhere. Philly talent and a league he can win every year and get a 1-3 seed. No chance he leaves for anywhere that isn't an absolute blue blood.

i know. I am just trying to find a coach that will succeed next year and in future years.

Tj, doc, and lutz ain't it.

Some real out of the box suggestions on your list. How did you ever come up with those 3?

This list just screams the typical Iowan "it has to be someone familiar, because something new is bad" approach to things.

That said, my list is:
1. Fred Hoiberg
2. Hornacek
3. Not sure after that. Someone who hasn't been here already. We've seen what they can do.

(1) Danny Manning (2) Archie Miller (3) Steve Prohm (4) Brad Underwood

I'll throw my choice in Larry Krystkowiak from Utah. Pro playing and coaching experience, doesn't seem to really have geographical bias as to where he works.

I hope none of those guys are the next Cyclone MBB head coach TBH

oh god help us all if we turn to Lutz or Sadler. TJ will use freds offense and recruit his guys at least. Im not sure TJ is ready but then again i think hed be the best option to get on possible short notice outside of throwing 3 Mill a year at Hornacek and giving that a chance.

If we can't get Weber, I'd probably choose Tom Izzo next.

Every time I see TJ's name, I start to dislike him more and more. Can't wait until this is over, so I can go back to liking him as an assistant again.

You would know because you are a cool guy with a cool car who has a house in MSP that Fred once drove by or something.

how do we know what he'll run long term? I would think he'd run Fred's stuff year one. Let's remember that tj has been a part of far more bad teams than good teams.

I'm assuming Fred will take Charlie Henry with him.

How about that coach from North Carolina Central? He seemed pretty cool and knew how to run an offense.
