I wouldn't even name a dog that. My baby names are going to sound so old-fashioned next to kids like that.

but mine will also have normal sounding names as adults.

yes, I know my real name is weird, but it's not like those.

You've got a nice name. And I don't just say that because for some reason it creeps you out when I call you by it.

I enjoy seeing birth announcements in the paper or on Facebook. Why do parents try so hard to give their kids terrible names that nobody will be able to spell?

As someone who has had to spell her name for people out all of my life (and has had people assume I'm male 50% of the time because the spelling was more commonly male back then) I can only assume that parents hate their children.

A "clever" spelling may be cool for the parents...NOT so cool for the kid. Some kids don't mind. I found it to be a major pain in the ***.

Sounds about as fun as going by your middle name. That's just a blast at times.

Thanks mom & dad.

well thank you. It's not common but I think it works. Some of these fail the Senator test. Senator Brexee? Breckyn? I can't take that seriously.

Heh...the senator test. With our boys, we both said that we didn't want to do weird names, so we went with more traditional (one a family name), but sometimes it seems they're the ones with weird names, since they're not weird names like everyone else. But then, yeah...the senator test. I hear some of these girls' names and I'm like "you know she's gonna be a stripper when she grows up, right?"

So are you saying my nephew Brecken will never be a senator? Dream crusher.

I'm kind of obsessed with the song Uptown Funk. And I even hate Bruno Mars. How can you NOT dance when listening to that song?

Gotta love when you are jammin' to it in the swagvan and you get a chorus of "Hot Damn" from the 2yr old and 3yr old. It is their favorite song. I had turned it up pretty loud to jam and the three year old says, "Turn it downer!" The 11yr old quickly says, "No, we don't want to turn to a Sam Smith song"

But she's the one telling Rings to slack off. "Oh, walking is good"

We need to be all in to get wedding boy in shape for his big day!

More like coaching:

Oh God, I didn't even think about that.

I mean, maybe in 50 years, Brecken will be the traditional sounding name!

Didn't you say you already had your suit? You don't want to work out to much and then have to get it tailored or buy a new one.

I do advocate getting walks in and starting to eat better if you want to lose weight. I HATE that I have to watch which carbs I eat....well....mainly the amount of. They are the quickest way for me to retain weight.

I feel like I've been neglecting the RT Thread. So here's some random stories from this week:

1. I found out that the Ames Redemption Center closed down when I went there to take four bags of cans from work, so I went to Hy Vee and a lady helped me out so I would finish faster. That was pretty awesome!

2. Z brushed her teeth on her own.

3. I had discussions this week with grandparents about mini-big wheels, trikes, and egg hunts. Her cousins are going to smother her. Yeesh.

When it comes to wedding purposes, I just need to maintain where I am at, but I have put on 15-20 pounds since starting the new job in November.:embarrassed:

I think the odd hours you work don't help either. I think the spouse gained weight when he worked overnight.

I did have the fun experience of one grandma blaming great grandma (her mom) of starting Z on milk and cookies for snack time.

Since Z usually hasn't like sweets I just laughed.

BigDaddyKane messaged me on another site and said "the mods [on Cyclone Fanatic] are b******." I tweeted a screencap of the message to Cyclone Fanatic and they favorited it. Guess he won't be coming back anytime soon :)
