Since you've talked about the messes that can be estates, KC...my co-worker told me today that his mom and dad stopped over today because his dad's dad's estate all *finally* all got settled, and while they were there, his dad got a call from his sister that he hadn't been speaking much with over it, they cleared the air.

So, kind of a CSB, but nice to know that although they can be a mess, sometimes they work out in the end.

00clone's estate post makes me wish my sister and I had an estate to fight over so I could join the conversation.

Heck, my sis doesn't even diss me for not having kids and therefore living a meaningless life devoid of purpose.

I talked to Daddy this weekend. He's finally home, but listening to him & his wife talk, I really don't think they are realistic about their circumstances. Ex: They share a cell phone because a family plan or plan for two is too expensive. My stepmother spent half of the call bragging about how frugal she is. I had to bite my tongue. A lot.

I have never met one of my step brothers. The other two I've met five or six times in the past 35 years...the oldest one I didn't meet until our parents had been married for 20 years. It really won't break my heart if I don't have contact with them after my father passes, or with my step-mother if Daddy goes first.

If that makes me callous, so be it. I'm just grateful I never had to live with her as I was already a mother of two, and had been married about 5 years when they got married.

Yes, but the 924S has taught you about something that's completely dependent upon you for everything, as well as something that gives you tremendous joy, and yet, also makes you want to pull your hair out at times.

I don't think it's callous, step families are a totally different thing when the children are adults....especially if it's not a smooth transition.

I s'pose I should expand a bit....my mom was one of 16 kids. Her mother passed away and her dad remarried. Most of the kids were grown, except for a couple. When he died, he structured the estate such that it would care for her until her death, then pay out to the kids. She initiated the discussion to change it, she didn't want to be tied and to tie up the estate for the kids.

Mowed the lawn today. I wont miss the grass at this house. Grows great in the front and edges in back but hardly at all in the middle in back.

Pants Happy Birthday assuming CG was correct. KC liked the lego people, I think I guessed most of the people right.

Dealing with my grandpa's estate has been mostly cordial so far. Other than my uncle being a control freak and constantly asking when they will get their money so he can invest it how he wants to. It is my dad and aunt as siblings and my uncle has always been like oil vs water.

In what probably is TMI...

My sinus passages have just decided to produce copious amounts of mucus, meaning I need to keep the kleenex box nearby until this clears up.

Blech.

This was me on Sunday. Running to blow my nose every commercial break at work on Sunday.

Haven't breathed through my nose in days.

Would ahi poke be some type of tuna thing? I thought ahi was some type of fancy tuna. Hope you get the other laid later, but congrats on the flowers for now. :)

Poke is at it's simplest raw ahi tuna cubed with a little lime juice and onion. It can be made a million ways, but those are typically the basic. Rice is usually served in the side.
