KJ's contract is up following this season. His NCAA finishes are as follows:
2010: 3rd
2011: 20th
2012: 35th
2013: 11th
2014: 12th
2015: 14th or 15th

The bulk of this year's points and our only 2015 AA is graduating. We have some solid to good wrestlers returning but no stars, and some holes in the lineup.

So let's put personal attacks aside and talk about what JP's move should be. Should Jackson get another extension?

Been waiting for you to post this. I knew you wouldn't disappoint.

It is an appropriate question. To pretend otherwise is burying your head in the sand. And you never answered said question. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Personally, I say we just close down the entire program and just root for UNI wrestling since they're so superior over there when compared to what KJ is doing at ISU. KJ honestly doesn't know what the **** he's doing when recruiting the #1 197# recruit in the nation to replace Gadson since there is gonna be a giant hole with our only 2015 AA graduating.

Who are the realistic alternatives?

Don't know why you wouldn't sign him. Not like we're talking about one of the revenue sports here.

Because a lot of us care about wrestling and also want ISU to win in every sport. Why sponsor a sport if you don't want to win? There are only two revenue sports. Are those the only ones that matter?

There are conflicting opinions about the program leadership but one thing is for sure--everyone who cares about the program is hoping for better results no matter who is in charge.

Marquee days for ISU wrestling are well in the past and as sad as it is, there is no real point in spending a lot of time or energy trying a new coach. Apathy set in years ago and at this point it's hard to find anybody that cares any more. He's a great dude and I'd love us to be great again, but I don't see it happening.

And don't question my fan card, just saying my realistic opinion.

What does UNI have to do with this?

FYI: The #1 197 pound recruit in the country last year wrestles for Ohio State and is going for the championships tonight. Harrington was a good recruit. I wish we had more of him.

Not enough care to justify firing a good man who graduates kids and gets average results.

Who would you hire?

Unfortunately I think it's a valid question. KJ has done some good things and i think he wants to succeed. The biggest question is where we want to be as a program. If we want to hang around the top 15 and hope for a top 5 once in awhile then he probably stays. If Pollard genuinely wants a team that contends for titles then I think he probably goes a different direction. Our recruiting has been decent but we are getting lapped in that regard by the elite programs ahead of us.

Like most of the keyboard jockeys out there I have a firm grasp of the obvious but no easy solutions.

I like the recruiting classes he's brought in, and as much as I hate to keep saying give him more time, we aren't getting anyone better, so give him more time.

A valid question, sure. But not coming from someone who has any interest in discussion. But instead somebody who posts exclusively when things go poorly (go check how many comments they have when we lose vs. when we win), who has at various times openly admitted to really being a Hawk/Panther fan, and has been openly calling for Jackson's head ever since he was hired.

Nobody is gonna revolt if tommorow Trent Paulsen or somebody else was introduced as our head coach. But NEICyfan would be popping champagne. The guy just hates Jackson.

Understood.
