Again,

We have beaten more teams that have been ranked at some point this year than UNI has played in the past 4 seasons combines (one of which was ISU).

We have played more teams that have been ranked at some point this year than UNI has even played in the last 8 seasons combined (all the way back to when Drake was ranked).

That's an impossible question. Would UNI have a Big 12 budget? Would UNI get to have the Big 12 brand behind them when recruiting every player on the current roster? Would UNI get the benefit of scheduling home games in the non conference designed to produce revenue with no real threat of being defeated?

I just hate that argument, because its comparing apples to helicopters.

It's comparing bball teams to other bball teams which is pretty simple. There are dozens of ways to do it somewhat reliably.

I think some people are getting Ranking and Seeding confused. Come tournament time, ISU will have a higher seed because of their SOS, BPI, RPI, and whatever other acronyms you want to use. UNI is 26-2 and has won 15 straight. They deserve their ranking. WSU...I don't have a comment, nor can I explain it. If both teams (UNI and ISU) win out the regular season, UNI will remain ranked higher than ISU. If UNI loses this weekend (and I think they do), I think you'll see them drop past 15. Then I expect you all to have a party to wash off your insecurities.

Honest question...do you believe this SHOULD be the case? That the #1 MVC team should be ranked higher than the #1/2 Big 12 team?

okay lets go this route then... We all saw what WSU did the past 2 years. did they deserve a #1 seed last year? Probably not, but there was really no one left. Got beat by Kentucky in the second round. I don't see UNI making it past the first weekend. UNI isn't battle tested like Big 12 teams are. Now, does that translate to the tourney? No.

I have a hard time believing that UNI would beat WVU (2x) OSU (2x) Texas (2x) KU (split) and OU (more than likely split)

God I liked it better when all we had to deal with were mouthbreaking Hok trolls. These Purple Hok variety are proving to be just as annoying.

The problem is that the mouthpiece for the PANthers is spewing that the could.

Guys, no bracketologist has UNI seeded ahead of ISU. Seeding is all that matters. Rankings are for fun and the committee doesn't even look at them other than to chuckle.

They don't have much bearing but it would be nice to see them be a little less terrible at accurately ranking teams.

Where is Murray State than? Why are they not in the Top 10 (let alone ranked)? Murray State has won 22 straight games (including 4 against MVC teams...)

They've lost 4 games.

Some of you are getting way too worked up about rankings. Come tourney time, they mean nothing. If UNI were to get seeded higher than ISU for the tourney, then I would expect and agree with the outcry.

But they have won 22 straight...

Your post makes no sense. He is saying the team UNI has this year wouldnt finish in the top half of the Big 12. Everything you asked was irrelevant to that discussion.

That's a fun game to play. We saw first hand how arguably your best coach in history did with those benefits. Thanks but no thanks.

This is just silly. Will UNI, WSU and all of the mid-major and minor conference teams get a chunk of cash to even things up before playing a NCAA tournament game? Will they get to add a bunch of players to their roster to even things up? Will those teams get to play a bunch of home games against NAIA squads before the start of the tournament? No - they will go and play a game in the tournament with the team they have against the opponent's team. Either the rankings are about the team that each school has and how it sizes up against the team that other school have or it is some fairy tale guess at what teams might have if they belonged to the major conferences. I believe it is supposed to reflect what the team is and what it has accomplished on the court. Only 2 losses at this point in the season is impressive. One top 50 win is not.

This is a dumb argument. Either it is played the way it is or the minor teams should just have their own tournament where everything is equal - helicopters to helicopters.

So for UNI to compete in the big12 we have to change their entire athletics dept? It really isn't comparing two different things. This UNI team, this year, playing home games at the McLeod Center, taking our schedule and having to travel to nine other big12 teams, would they have the same record as us? Would they break .500?

I respect what you're saying here. I'm just saying UNI is built as a Valley program, Iowa State is built as a Big 12 program. There are inherent advantages that come by being a Power 5 school? Would you not agree?

That said, and I'll be done here, I wish we could have played each other. Would have been a great game.

I think we can all agree on this: F Fran.
