Yakwe reminds me of a lot of Aaron White with his length and would fit in perfectly into Iowa State. Imagine if hogue was taller and more athletic (more than already is). White+Hogue= Yakwe!

Is it just me, or are all our recruits nowadays head-to-heads with Kansas?

I guess it's nice to be in that company as a program. Not that Fred has done too badly coaching up JUCOs, 4* guys, and transfers to be able to compete consistently in the Top 15.

Are we "there" now? Granted, everybody goes after talent, but I kind of like that it seems Fred is doing a lot of ******* in Bill Self's soup on the recruiting trail lately.

:jimlad:

Or at least trying to. I don't think we've won a head-to-head recruitment battle over them yet.

Sweet, somehow I first read that as he was visiting OU. Although a package deal doesn't make much sense to me, isn't Diallo a 2015 recruit and most likely a one and done player? If so they wouldn't ever really play together.

I see this the same as you. Maybe Diallo has 2 years of college in the back of his mind.

That's rude to Yakwe. I don't think we should insult our recruits like that.
Also, why bring that sad sack of a program into an ISU recruiting thread. Think bigger.

Look at how many of Kentucky's kids came back for a sophomore year, or Selden, or Harrison Barnes. The list goes on. A smart recruit would think about how Plan B of coming back for year 2 would look.

I think a big reason for this is because Self and Hoiberg go on recruiting trips together. Share hotel rooms ect to save money. Bill always lets fred use the shower first which is pretty cool of him.

Houge could be taller, but I would challenge how on earth he could be more athletic? He is strong, cat quick, and can jump out of the gym. What more could he do? Fly?
