Basketball Commit (Walk on)

Na I'm thinking we skip out on Diallo and give him the scholly.

Congrats to Wesley though.
Wes is pretty good, albeit at a smaller school. Obviously I wouldn't expect him to get any playing time at ISU as a walk on. Good for him though, glad he's part of the team.

Haha I'm not knocking the kid. Seems like Stensland is enjoying himself and being a good teammate. Great to have Iowa Kids on when you can. I just thought it was funny how you worded it.

Haha no worries. He'll definitely be a walk-on, if that's better!

Anybody ever see him play? Gilbert would be interesting to watch now with him and Jack Hoiberg

Greder is much better known for his talents in XC and T&F. The kid has ran sub-16 for 5k and a 4:29 1600m (essentially a 4:31 mile). He's a 3x state medalist in cross country and twice in track with this spring still coming. He does pair his endurance with a personal best of 6' 2" in the high jump, which is traditionally good enough to place top 12 at state in any classification. However, he has never qualified for state, hitting 5'8" at state qualifying. He also pitched for Gilbert with an ERA of 1.21 and had a batting average of 0.345.

Clearly, he is an athlete and having been a 4-sporter he will have a lot of upside to develop rapidly under a single focus. If he has fast hands to go with his endurance, he could apply some relentless scout-team full-court pressure.

hahahaha

Won't this put us at 3 walk ons? Jackson, Stensland, Greder.

I thought you were allowed 3 walk-ons along with 13 scholarship players? We just have been carrying an open walk-on slot on the roster.
