Brought baby home today. I definitely had a "holy **** they actually trust me with this thing" moment.

I'm not sure if it has been 24 hours yet, but how did the first day at home go? I think we brought Z home, found lunch or ordered it, then took pictures of her and held or watched her in between important things like food and diaper changes.

Don't read if you don't want to hear about nursing:

Z had issues, but we were able to get her onto a bottle and then nurse from there. Encourage your wife throughout. It's a very self conscious doubt filled mine field. If you aren't going the nursing route, just ignore other people's opinions.

Well now...

Why don't you read through this post again, through my eyes?

This can go on all day,it's pointless. It was used as a joke, and you as an opinionated person can't just let it go and have to make a big deal out of nothing. As 00, sometimes it's
best to just let it roll right off of you.

Maybe when you call someone bubba or whatever you use, maybe that could be used in a negative way. Next time you use that, I'll just throw a fit since Bubba is a term for low economic status and limited education or can also be used to describe an overweight man.

Doing great on all aspects so far. Only thing I would change is my MIL would leave with her husband on Sunday but I have to wait another week for that.

Nope. Not me. That ship sailed quite a few years ago.

Actually, I posed a simple question. And I honestly HAVE found that many younger people don't recognize things like that. Saying a woman is on the rag meant that she was irrationally angry about nothing in my experience, with the accent on irrational. However, I believe the escalation actually came from double ought (I KNEW that KC was going to be all over that).

WDSM:
Sometimes it's tough to know serious from jimlad, and with you and ARob both, I find that very difficult. I don't believe I over-reacted, but if you believe I did, then I apologize for giving that impression.

I use Bubba because it made people uncomfortable when I used what I normally use: "sugar". What would you prefer that I use?

It goes both ways. Guys will quit using it as a joke when women are behajng irrationally when women quit trying to use it as an excuse for behaving irrationally.

You have a lot more faith in guys than I do. And thinking about it, I don't think I've ever actually heard a woman use it as an excuse (or at least what I would call an excuse)

Has that been your experience? (No jimlad) I don't know many who do, or did back when I was younger. I remember men (boys) using it against us, but I don't recall using it as an excuse.

Menopause, on the other hand... :)

Yes. I've seen a lot of women (luckily never dated any) that use PMS as an excuse to be a complete *****, unfortunately.

I've heard women use it as an excuse to avoid sex, but not bitchiness. It makes me sad that they do, because it only perpetuates the stereotype.

I wonder if the claims of PMS have been increased by all of the commercials for drugs that "help" with PMS? It seems like there are 10 new syndromes every month, each with a new drug to alleviate symptoms. I'm not going all conspiracy theory here...just musing. Pharmaceutical companies have given hypochondriacs new life...(pun intended).

OK, whatever on the PMS discussion...something more positive...there's a place in CR that is a trampoline 'gym' I guess would be the best way to describe it...a huge building filled with a platform of different trampolines and foam block pits, basketball hoops, etc. They have a pre-school only time in the morning (or at least this morning). Mrs. and I met some women from her moms' book club there...what a blast. 2 YO took some warming up to it, but ended up not wanting to leave. 4 YO went right at it, ended up completely spent and ready to go.

If there's not something like this in DSM/Ames, there needs to be..and if there is, go, it's fun.

We had an invite to go last month. The website doesn't list a minimum age, but I doubt I want my one year old in a crush if it was busy. It does look really fun though!

EDIT: Toddler Time: 11 AM - 12 PM I didn't see that before!! Too bad I'm not a stay at home mom. 'Horrible' timing for it. LOL
