Random thoughts III

I came out face up. To this day my mom says that giving birth to me was the most pain she has ever felt.

The back labor was tough (especially since back then they insisted that we lie on our backs with a fetal heart monitor strapped to our bellies) but it was more the fact that it's easier for the baby to arch its back than to tuck its chin to go through the birth canal, so it took longer. My son had a major conehead going on by the time he arrived. :)

That goes away, right?

Yup. All babies have it to a certain extent...but his was pretty danged impressive. This is totally layman's terms and I am NOT a medical professional, but as I understand it, the three skull plates tend to overlap slightly so that those fat heads can fit through. All babies have that "soft spot" on their head at birth. The sections eventual fuse together, but they are somewhat separate at first to allow room for the baby's brain (and the skull) to grow. Pretty efficient design if you ask me! :)

Kids really do say the darndest things. We are sitting here and one of the 3 y/o girls in my wife's day care goes to the bathroom. A few minutes later we just hear her singing "Let it go!"

2 YO is going thru a growth spurt. Mrs. said how big he's getting and he replied "We need to tell the hotel I'm big and I can ride on the bumper cars"...when we went to Wisc Dells just after X-mas, he was too small to ride, was very disappointed...apparently he hasn't forgotten it. Mrs. told me about it, and I tried...yep, same response...he really wants to ride those cars.

it's cool and horrifying

Nope, don't call it a design, KC...that's just a random chance thing that happened as a simple genetic defect, but it helped the species survive so it was selected out to be the dominant trait.

;-)

I'm one of those that thinks the two don't have to be mutually exclusive. :)

Wow. I just read through what I missed the past few days. You guys covered a lot of ground.

By the way, I think I am going to use that sign for athlete's parents at our soccer team's parents meeting.

Too many Cyclone events this weekend. Tonight gymnastics with all 4 girls and out of town friends. Would love for oldest to go watch Cyclone softball with some of her softball team tonight, but the two conflict. Tomorrow a college friend and I will go to the MBB game, again there is softball but won't make it. WBB in the evening but I think we are passing on that (tickets are already being used). Athletics department had a Daddy/Daughter promotion to the WBB game but we didn't take advantage. Sunday more gymnastics with the gymnasts hosting a free clinic afterwards, two of our girls are signed up for that. All this fun for under $10 plus the cost of Clone Cones. ;) (I was in charge of making sure my parents' MBB/WBB tickets got used while they are gone so tix for free) :)

There is another Daddy/Daughter promotion to a gymnastics meet later in Feb but we will be out of town. It is also dress as your favorite Disney princess day that day.

I played pool for the first time for a number of years last night. I broke, knocked in a solid off the break, and then proceeded to run the table.

The guy asked for a rematch. I missed once and then cleared the table again.

After that guy left I played a few more games and couldn't hit anything. I'm like the Paul Rhoads of billiards

I'll throw you a bone Pants. Seen any pretty ladies lately? How's the weather? We are going to be all the way up to 30 today HEAT WAVE baby. Did you get rid of the grumpy cripple lady yet? Been eating any fresh pineapple or fish tacos?
