Worked all day yesterday, ran home and did some laundry and took a half hour nap. We back to work all night overnight. Running back home to shower and brush my teeth and back to work again.

So last year and now this year we have done my side family Christmas on the 31st then go to the MBB game. My parents have season tickets, my husband and sister are playing in the alumni pep band, and my other sister and I bought tickets that were offered to the JCC. My one sister who is playing in the band didn't see the email about JCC tickets so my one nephew has no ticket to the game. Last year it was family night for the band so the older kids played, but this year they had to limit how many could play. I'm sure we can find a single outside the game, but would be nice to have a ticket before we go.

We will also be playing "how many people can we stuff into the one vehicle with a parking pass". ;) 5 adults, 1 teenager, and 6 kids ages 1-11. Think we can do it? :)

I have to get on a plane at 5:15am tomorrow to go to Kauai, then a plane to Maui at 4pm tomorrow to work overnight again.

Sadly, even when I'm legitimately complaining, it even sounds kind of like gloating.

I get the same reaction when I complain about my dangly bits hanging out the bottom of my cargo shorts.

Yeah they said at home coming due to popularity they had to limit it now. Also no pizza before the game anymore.

I thought there was, hence the reason my husband wanted to be there right at 4:30? Hmmm.

Look for the trombone player starting all the chants...that'll be him.

And I know how ALLLLL of you like the chants. :jimlad:

Mr. Sara has fallen below Mr. Cowgirl on the husbands I'd like to have a beer with list.

We knew this would be a popular game for alumni band. The women's game the Sun before Christmas wasn't as popular. ;) They did a family pep band during a volleyball match over Thanksgiving break. It was a fun option for those of us who live close.

Taking out the food is partly due to some people abusing it (i.e. one person). With the issues it caused it was easier just to eliminate the food option.

My hubby is right there with him. He was telling me some they came up with at the last women's game, not very PC. :p Those 90 ' s band nerds think they are cool with their retro chants.

Legally? No. But I'm of the opinion that you can accomplish damn near anything you set your mind to, so yeah, Birdy, you'll fit all of them. We got 17 high schoolers into an Olds Vista Cruiser back in the day. :)

We would have been sitting up above them for the game - I'll have to watch for him on TV. If I can stay awake...

I had a couple of pep band trombone players work for me at different times in the past. They had very....interesting....slogans on their t-shirts. :)

How does one "abuse" free pizza??? Throw it at other people? Hide it in the sousaphone bell to eat later? Hog up and eat 3 pizzas all by themselves?

KC's drug-addled, sleep-deprived "series of moments" of the day:

At the ER the PA decided to put me on nebulized albuterol because my normal albuterol inhaler wasn't having much of an effect. She asked if I had a nebulizer at home. I thought I did. So she gave us three doses to take home with us, and a scrip for more.

Turns out what I have is NOT a nebulizer, it's an optimizer chamber for use with a regular inhaler. No biggee...online search says Walgreens carries them. So hubby trucks over there after work. No go. You have to have a prescription to buy a nebulizer. It doesn't matter that you have a prescription for a drug that requires the nebulizer as a delivery method. So he calls Story Co ER to connect with the PA...turns out they have the nebulizer there...so he dropped by there on his way home. One GOOD thing...no charge; it's covered by my insurance.

So after waking me up when he called from Walgreens, he comes home and starts unloading it on the desk in front of a very groggy me...but puts the instructions on a table behind him so that I can't look at them. He thinks he's moving really slowly showing me how to put it together, my head is spinning and I haven't gotten past the plug it in stage (which I thought he did). After a minor squabble due mostly to me still feeling like crap, he escapes to go fill the prescription, leaving me with the instructions and the (mostly) assembled nebulizer. I read through the instructions, fill the reservoir with the dose packet, and start breathing. You're supposed to breathe as deeply as possible until it stops missing and the liquid is all gone - should take 5-15 minutes depending on how deeply you breathe. I can't breathe deeply without getting very lightheaded, so I figure it's going to take the full 15 minutes. PapaLew gets back about when I should be done, and the liquid is just as full as when I started. He said "keep going". So I keep going. Fifteen minutes later I tell him it's still just as full...what am I doing wrong. He comes over to look at it and me using it, and reaches over and plugs it in.

I'm really really stupid when I'm sick.

You pay for one person and then bring your entire family to eat (who aren't playing in the band). On going, yearly issue that had been addressed more than once with said person who felt they were entitled.

You totally know it was a sousaphone or tuba player (are those the same thing?) Them fatarses gotta ruin every free food event.

I was vocal, not band, but I think they're sousaphones when they wrap around you and have the outward facing bell. A Tuba looks more like a baritone on steroids. I believe they play the same part, though.
