An elf showed up at our place the other day. He's been tearing the **** out of our house since he arrived. The wife isn't finding it very humorous. I love it.
Does anyone else's elf have a name?
I'm sure there's a good explanation, but this almost sounds creepy the details you know here...
Well I saw the twins in person tonight at the band concert (daughter is in the same grade). I also follow Gilbert Athletics on twitter since that is where my kids go. I deduced with my cowgirl-like stalking skills that when the twitter told me Paige Hoiberg had 16pts in their game against Story City that there was a girls game. I also deduced that since the gym was empty when I walked by it for the band concert, it was an away game. I could also tell from twitter that it was a girls/boys double header so I figured Jack would probably be at the boys game. That's not too creepy, is it?![]()

aaaaaaaaaaaaand DH is sick again. Was going to try to go to work when I left this morning, by 8:30 that was a no-go. Now he might not get his wisdom teeth done on Friday. He tried to take it easy at dodgeball last night and I didn't feed him anything poisoned. He did have a glass of milk with dinner though......and it was a grilled ham and cheese. I'm wondering if the dairy was too much for his stomach to handle. Fingers crossed that's all it was.......was hoping he'd feel good enough to still go in on Friday since that's an easy day to take off and I'm sure he won't be able to reschedule until after the 1st which is a new benefits year which he was trying to avoid.
Then I was coming up to an intersection and thought "gee, if someone tried to go left on this light in front of me, I'd probably hit them and how would DH be able to come get me?" And then SOMEONE DID! I couldn't believe it. She slammed on her brakes, I swerved........too shocked to honk. Someone wanted to tailgate me after that, so I mildly brake checked them. Coffee machine not working at work today and I find out that last night a company wide screensaver timeout went into effect...........which means the person I was having do a remote login to update their ******* ridiculous program couldn't do it AGAIN. This is like the fourth time I've tried. And if the thing we are going to try today doesn't work, it means I'll get to babysit my computer either here or at home while they take 4-6 hours (at least, coworker is on about day 4 of trying to get this done) to update the program. Competitor programs I can update in about 3 minutes. Pants, I will go full New York mean on them and their "customer service" when this is done.
I've about had it with Wednesday already. Want to go home and take care of DH.
atleast that person didn't you. I'm still without a ******* car thanks to the ******* who hit my parked car while I was sleeping.
I've only had my fixed car back for a week! Did the person who hit you leave a note? If they hit a parked car hard enough to make it undrivable, they were probably drunk.
If by note you mean the bumper on my car was ****ed, then yes. She said she was "blinded by the sun". You don't go over 15 miles per hour pulling in the driveway unless you are a moron/ texting and not paying attention to the road (she was, won't admit it). To top things off, State Farm has a "1 month" policy for insurance, they claimed they called her 5-10 times and she didn't respond, obviously waiting so their insurance doesn't spike until the very last second.
Here the next week, she has a brand new car, I'm left with the same car that's bent. Didn't get paid until summer was over, so no time to get a car. She is also a Hawkeye fan, which after putting two and two together, everything made sense.
Nice detail on the fire truck and tow truck. My horrible drawing to explain:

so she was driving straight down a cul-de-sac and hit your car? Yeah, she was definitely texting. When did this happen? and so you got stuck with the deductible then?
Yeah, this summer. I decided that State Farm could have my car in exchange for 5k
I parked my car in the BART lot and rode the BART into the city to work. Came back to my car that night, and my whole front end was bashed, glass all over the place. No note, nada. Turned my claim in to State Farm, and they paid out (minus my deductable) but it had to be the shop approved by them. Then they raised my premium because I was an "unsafe" driver because my car got hit while parked. I wasn't in the car...I wasn't even in the same city! Changed insurance companies.
I started having tranny issues...broke down in Elko Nevada (don't ever do that - it's the armpit of the universe) as we were on our way to our new home here. Had to have it towed to Salt Lake City (or back to Reno...we figured we might as well go forward) for repairs. They had to replace the tranny. Left the car there, piled me, spouse & 2 boys age 3 & 4 into the cab of a U-Haul with barely functional A/C...in August...for the rest of the trip from Utah to Ames. Spouse went back a week later with a colleague & brought the car to Ames.
How are the two related? Traced back to the repair job...by the "approved shop" that just happened to be owned by the brother of our former agent. Car was hit at a slight angle, shifted things under the hood. Tranny sat just a tiny bit askew, but enough to shear off the bolts. Fluid leaks out, boom. Dead tranny. Dead car. VERY po'd KC.
