A) He is 75 years old lets not hold a couple slips of the tongue against him.
B) When he does a game, it brings a bigger sense to the game.
C) The football plugs are probably mandated by ESPN, also when they went down that road the game was decided, and his job is to entertain the audience to keep them engaged. He does this as well as anyone.

Also keep in mind that the majority of his audience were SEC and Big 12 fans who overwhelmingly have a huge interest in the FB playoffs. They are probably the most relevant two leagues in that thing.

Not everyone is an ISU fan who lost interest in FB a month or two ago.

Fran is about the best you can get for college basketball, and really Brent is entertaining, even if he messed up (quite a bit). Either way, better than a lot of announcers. Throw in Lisa Salters or the gal from FOX Sports 1 that was on the sideline for the WV game, and you have a great team!

I would love to have a beer with Brent.....I probably am going to be like him in my later years....lol. Half tanked and talking about the girls in the crowd....

Buddy and I were just talking about this last night. Heft really isn't that great, give me JW and Fran and that would be great. But since that will never happen Musberger and Fran works, especially for the big games. As I said earlier Musberger knows how to sell the atmosphere and moment.
