Cincinnati comes into Ames after losing on the road to UT-Martin. They overcame an 11 point deficit in the second half but couldn't get over the hump.

Like us, they are inexperienced in the post. They have two starters returning from a 13-18 team in 6' senior guard Aleysha Lovett and 5'10" senior guard Chelsea Jamison. Surprisingly, those two seniors are not their "go to" players. Instead you'll want to watch 6'2" Soph Marley Hill and 5'10" junior Jasmine Whitfield who are averaging 18 and 20 ppg.

This team will get its rebounds and has three players who will shoot the three (team ave is 42%). They are pretty abysmal at the free throw line only hitting 59% on the young season. They will also turn the ball over averaging 17 per game.

The key will be shutting down and blocking out Whitfield and Hill as they are averaging a double-double (20 ppg./10reb) (18ppg/12 reb).

Should be a fun game and a test to the learning that has taken place since the ugly game we experienced on Tuesday. The extra rest and practice should do a world of good for our ladies and I expect to see a dominating performance.

Am I missing something with "heer" in the title, or is it just a spelling oversight?

I am excited for this season. While our posts are raw and inexperienced, I've been impressed with what I've seen so far. If they can keep progressing, they should be ready for Big 12 play. I have been disappointed with all of the turnovers, especially on some just plain stupid passes. That has to get cleaned up.

Acoustmatic,
Not to jump to far ahead, but what do you think of our chances against Ia.? Personally I'm thinking our chances don't look to bright (hope I'm wrong).

I watched Iowa play Dayton last night. We will have trouble with Doolittle in the post and if our defense isn't improved Logic will eat us up. They play a four guard lineup most of the time and I think we could match up well to that. I got my fingers crossed on this game.

#18 Iowa 90, Dayton 83 - was the game a lot more lopsided than the score?

In Hilton awaiting the game. We see few each year - exciting to be here, and won't be back until the Challenge. We're going to KC tomorrow to get our MBB fix. Hoping to see a focused Moody - Sr. Pg who should go over a thousand pts today. We have the pieces for a good season. Hope we defend.

sound working again. Seems like evey broadcast has an issue. Viideo froze during pregame.

I wish Bell would take some of those outside shots. She has done a good job passing and driving, but seems a little timid (like Buckley was last year) to take that outside shot.

I keep reading this as "here come the beercats."

And I was seeing:

I'll eat a little crow. When Moody was suspended, I said it wasn't going to be that much of a loss. She played a lot of me ball and was often trying to be the hero even when we didn't need a hero.

But so far this season (although I did miss half of the Drake game) she's been playing team ball and has been pretty masterful in directing the offense. (Obviously) it looks like BF knew what he was doing in putting a scare in her with the suspension. Here's hoping she can keep up what she's been doing this year for the team all season.

She just made one, happy now?

Another interesting look with three PG in right now.

Edit: Nice final stat line for Bell, 15 minutes, 7 points, 6 assists and no turnovers.
