MLB: ***OFFICIAL 2014 MLB Postseason Thread***

The hate on the Cards is perfect example of envy. Yankees buy their success but Cards are just a great organization. Four straight NLCS appearances with two pennants and a World Series title in that time period.

That said it shouldn't be about STL in here; focus should be all SF and KC as they deserve it

I'm a huge Brewers fan. My hate for the Cardinals stems from 1982 - it has nothing to do with envy. I respect their organization and acknowledge the consistent success they have had. But there are a certain faction of Cardinal fans (like any fan base) that have an arrogance about their success that make it hard to root for them - even though they are a representative of the NL Central. I generally will root for a NL Central team in the playoffs if the Brewers aren't in it (which has been most of the time) - but it is hard for me to root for the Cards. That said, they had a great season & I was completely surprised to see them lose to SF. Hats off to the Giants.

Yikes, even after a ugly series loss, the arrogance shines through.

But that's enough about Cardinals fans, let's focus on SF and KC now.

Cardinals fans stood and applauded LaRussa after he got a DUI.

Now let's get back to Royals-Giants.

And they applauded a known-juicer hitting coach.

Anyway, back to Royals-Giamts.

Back to Royals-Giants.

2 wild card teams in the WS. That's a first, is it not? And even more impressive in the new format.

As as a Reds fan, I always root for the NL (unless it's another Central team). Not this year...Go Royals!

Two things I think Matheny did wrong:

1. Having Randy Choate on the roster, basically costs them 2 games.
2. Putting Wacha in that situation after not pitching in a game for nearly a month. Hopefully Wacha can use this as motivation as Wong did last year in the WS after getting picked off to end a game.

Missing Molina was a big hurdle to overcome, but the Panda bear made a bunch of great plays this week to save the Giants. They played better than the birds, good luck KC.

Can't argue with any of this.

Great series by my Giants! I didn't see this one coming so quickly, but rather more similar to the slug-fest in the 2012 NLCS. I have no idea what to expect from this WS. We got swept at the K in August (when we were playing horribly), but I don't see that happening again. Both teams have put together something special for October. I would be happy that KC is where they are had they not beat Oakland in the WC game (I wanted another Bay Bridge World Series on this, the 25th anniversary of the 6.9 quake that disrupted the series) and I'll be bummed if SF doesn't win another title, but it would be pretty great for KC fans for their team to literally come out of nowhere and claim it for their city.

Not sure if this has been posted, but this is kinda awesome:

The World Series is finally here. Hopefully the Giants put an end to all of the KC Royals bandwagon silliness.

San Francisco and Anaheim were both Wild Card teams in 2002.

Seems like the 1st time all playoffs the Royals couldn't come up with some sort of play to score. 2nd and 3rd no outs there. Ouch.
