Texas Tech SEZ

Texas Tech just announced plans to redo their south end zone. I didn't see any projected stadium capacity numbers but my guess is they will try to take back 3rd place in capacity within the conference (ISU is projected to be 3rd after our SEZ completion).

They'll maybe be third in capacity, but they can't fill their stadium as it is. Tech fans are not very supportive.

Cancel the 50' solid gold Seneca Wallace statue and divert those funds to a 30k seat NEZ superstructure.

I think this is a good thing over all. I want to see Big 12 programs wanting 1st class facilities. Shows a strong conference. Baylor has a new stadium, KSU has put a ton into theirs, ISU has stepped up the last decade, Okie State has obviously upgraded, ect.

Hopefully Jamie starts the NEZ/pressbox fundraising as soon as the SEZ is finished.

That is what the SEC teams did the late 90's and it paid off.

The $185 million budget for all of that, I must admit, is impressive. I'll give a golf clap to the Zorros for that level of effort. It's good for the conference to have schools stepping up like this.

Building onto a stadium just to say that it's bigger than another stadium is a really stupid reason to do something.
