If you are referring to bigoby athletics, that is wrong. it has not proven it belongs.

Big Boy athletics? how so? was it our 7 FBS wins or Win over Oklahoma in Big Dance Basketball?

Game week is here. I notice alot of quietness in here. Don't get nervous it's just a game.

That might be because most of us have things to do other then sit on a message board and talk about a meaningless game that probably wont effect the outcome of either greatly.

WOW - the Bison faithful are grossly underestimating this ISU team. On their board their calling ISU garbage and turds of the big 12, etc etc….Trust me when i say this, they have something to prove and this game will determine if they will be going to a bowl this year or not. Unlike the Bison who are trying to get off on the right foot there are reasons to see problems heading towards fargo….

Consider these numbers: NDSU is 7-3 all time against FBS programs. Of those 7 victories, they've only beaten two teams with winning records from that year and an overall record of those 7 wins their opponents record was 31-56.

They lose the most successful qb in the history of their program and the history of the FCS….this cannot be devalued - ask Iowa when they lost Stanzi and everyone was saying this James Vandenberg was better anyway…. we all seen how that played out and enjoyed it actually!!!!

They lost 23 seniors that either started or played significant minutes including 3 on the ol, and DLs, starting qb, starting rb. That don't seem like a lot to FBS teams, but, thats equates to almost 37% of their total roster. Again, ISU lost players too….But, FBS teams carry 22 more scholarship players and SHOULD have more depth.

They have a rookie head coach.

They have a rookie offensive coordinator.

Most seniored coordinator has three years.

My realistic opinion on this game is simple - they want to run down hill and outwork their opponents. Their offense will not be what it was a year ago and not nearly as difficult to defend. You know what their going to do - but can you stop it? Brock Jensen seemed to be able to throw or not throw depending on what the defense gave him….heck of a qb. Our defense is inexperienced, young and raw…but when dealing with that, i'd rather have a veteran like Wally then a third year guy….This could be a push - who wins in the trenches may decide the game. Because….

ISU should have an explosive and competent offense. With size, speed and athletic ability something we haven't always been able to say lining up against NDSU's strength this year…their defense. However, Mangino has had months to game plan for this game. He's got so many little toys to play with that i find it hard to believe that we don't score somewhere in the 24 - 30 pt range.

Question will be….can our defense get them off the field….If we can hold them below 24 pts i think we win. If they score 30+ then we certainly will have to play our best offensive game. That said, i'd rather have their staff cutting their teeth against us, then playing this team say end of the fall!!!!

Am i drinking the Mangino coolaid - Hell Yeah!!!!

Hi, longtime listener first time caller. Quick question for those of you in the know. Is this going to be the ***Official Thread***, or will it be firebombed sometime around Friday evening at 9 pm? Asking for a friend.

Game Week!

Oooh, oooh, I vote KILL IT WITH FIRE! :spinny:

The FBS wins in football are impressive for an FCS school. But that is one game a year and I'm not sure wins again CSU and Western Michigan are something to use as proof we "belong". But since you always bring up bball and a softball win from 5 years ago I decided to dive a little further into the numbers of NDSU against power 5 schools on a handful of sports since becoming D1. Some totals may be a little different as some schools were in different conferences at the time of playing NDSU but I lumped them in with their current conference. I also added games against UNI and Drake for a local flavor but are not added to power 5 totals. I will let the numbers speak for themselves.

Went over to Bisonville for not even 30 seconds and this was the first comment I saw. Killed a few brain cells by reading this

Mangino is getting a lot of mileage out of that NC year at Oklahoma. He was barely a .500 coach at Kansas which I guess is saying something but it's not like he's really excelled to give him this much credit.

Iowa State is just one of those turd programs that will always be a turd. Look at Gene Chizik winning the NC at Auburn 2 years removed from ISU.

What's your career record against Iowa State, doosh? We beat Oklahoma last year in basketball and you don't see us bragging about it. We made it to the Sweet 16 with arguably our best player out. Stop bringing basketball into this when it is nowhere close to even as we would win 99 out of 100 times against you. You lack common sense and need to get out of your moms basement once in a while.

Love the Gene Chizik argument. Lets ignore the fact that Gus Malzhan and Cam Newton are the reason for that NC. Chizik really did well with that Auburn program without them.
