HA! This made me laugh. For actual facts, NDSU has not given up more than 30 in the last three years. 27 was the high in 2011, 21 was the high in 2012, and 26 was the high last year. These are more relevant than anything before 2011, not because it makes NDSU look better, but because there are multiple players on this defense that started in 2011+12+13 and only 1 started before 2011 (Heagle as a freshman in 2010- redshirted 2012 due to injury). They gave up more than 20 points 3 times last year, and 9 of the 15 games opponents were held to 10 or fewer. In 4 playoff games against the FCS, supposedly the best FCS teams, NDSU gave up 7, 14 ,14, and 7. Of those 6 td's, the first team defense gave up 3 of them (1 pick six, 2 td's late in 4th in 30 + point blowouts).
Make fun of this and the strength of schedule all you want, just stating recent facts since I am sure it's tough to sift through all the crazy numbers thrown out there, like saying 1 time 30 + points given up in 5 + years, which is simply not true. The more relevant stat is 0 times in last 3 years.
Notice I don't give you offensive stats from prior years, since those are meaningless with a new QB and 4 new offensive lineman and trying to find a replacement for our slot WR. We really need Wentz to be good this year, or else our offense could really struggle.
