NDSU BISON @ Iowa State University Cyclones

Did I say that we were going to curb stomp you? I just simply said that offense will be drastically improved especially when Mangino is coaching us.

It was more in response to others i have read on here. And I fully believe that you will be better on offense. And to answer your other ? our offensive line goes pretty much 300 across the board, our RG and RT our something like 6 6 and 6 7. It really really hurt us that our returning left guard, 6 4 320 is out for the year.

Well for 1, I would much rather be on our side than yours. Thanks for making me feel even better about ourselves. All that must suck for you.

Ha, fair point. I know bison fans can be plenty arrogant, but just trying to respond to some cyclone fans that think just because they have about a million advantages they are automatically better on the field.

So where is NDSU's 1st-2nd round draft pick QB that would keep them from sucking in the Big 12?

NDSU wins with Defense, not QB play.

See: Kansas State, 2013. Before anyone responds with a reference to 2009 Iowa State game, that game has no bearing on how we would have done last year in the big 12 nor how we will do this year, and last year's kansas state game is relevant as we return a majority of our defense.

Like I said, things will be shakey on defense since everything is so new to them. We have replaced a lot of coaches but hopefully in return, that will give us more stability on both offense and defense.

That certainly might be the case. NDSU certainly has some question marks. But I will trust a neutral odds maker over a cyclone fan that asserts that ISU is better at every single position as at least one fan has.

Yep, and its true. In fact, no one on your entire roster would even play for us.

I really hope we don't lose this. If we did the arrogance of biso fans would be to the moon and back.

Arrogance? Not this year. Too many question marks. I have said multiple times throughout my last posts i don't know who is going to win. I have only said our defense is really good (which it is) and you won't score as many points as you think you will (which you won't). I think both teams are pretty even, starters wise, we have a better defense you have a better offense. And the Vegas line reflects that thinking. I would predict a bison 3 point win just because i am a homer, not because i think the Bison are 3 points better. If it's being arrogant calling the strength of our team what it is, and calling out our question marks on the offensive line and offense in general, then my apologies.

I tried to simulate this game on NCAA 14, but NDSU doesn't exist...

This is not to be a snooty question, but what do you Bison fans believe will be their confidence if they lose to the hapless Cyclones by say 10? We as fans drink our team's kool-aid, but none of us know what our team is capable of. We all know either team could win this game. But I think if we lose to NDSU I don't think it would shock us. Some of our fans will step out to the ledge, but most of us will probably just excuse the loss to a new system and new players just not quite ready yet. I do expect that win or lose we will improve every week. I could actually see us losing to NDSU and beating KSU, but I'm very hopeful that we come out 2-0 after watching the fall camp updates.

I believe that our team has a renewed spirit after the close of last season and the way that they won those games. One a curb-stomping of a fellow Big XII team and the other a 24-point comeback when on the road at another Big XII venue. I believe that our captains are business-like leaders vs the jovial Jaques and the vocal leader of Jeremiah from last year. I also believe that our coaching staff understands what it did wrong in leading to our rash of injuries last year. Couple that with a proven OC/Head coach added to the staff and I believe the star talent on offense will keep the defense off the field resulting in an energized defense.

Do I know what will happen? Nope. But I sure am not hinging our season's success on this one game. I'm wondering if NDSU fans will be able to say the same thing.

I haven't made any sort of prediction yet. I have an idea of one but will wait. I understand NDSU lost back in 2009. Was 5 years ago and both teams are totally different.

To the point of the ISU defense being worn out in the 4th quarter and NDSU O line fresh, that's not what I said. Something that you will learn during the course of the game and if you watch last years games, is that NDSU has a great strength and conditioning program. I said that is what they try and do, and if they can and your defense is on the field a lot, they will be tired. Making it easier for the O line to get good push and turn 2-4 yard gains quickly into 4-8 yard gains. That's the point I was making. I don't know if NDSU can do it, but I was pointing out that's what they try and do and that's how they have been able to dominate teams over the last 3-4 years. Their time of possession is one of their most important stats next to winning on the score board.

I'm going to step out on a very small limb and say we have a better program.

I think the Bison will win but will not be at all surprised if Iowa State wins. I know many NDSU fans want to move to FBS, however unreaslistic at the moment, but I for one am happy having a playoff against other schools with similar limitations to NDSU. If NDSU loses to ISU, I will be disappointed for sure, but an FCS championship is still on the table. Not trying to be at all snooty in return, but you think you can have a successful season IF you were to lose to an FCS team at home for the second straight year?

That's like saying "I think I'm either right or wrong." No s**t, Sherlock.
