haha yeah. What a stupid question from the reporter.

you can tell the kid was wondering why he should say something in Greek for a US paper. Don't worry kid, we all wonder that too.

His english is fantastic. I always say I don't have the aptitude to learn another language but with so many foreign people speaking very good English, I have realized that I am probably just an egotistical American.

Most people in countries around the world started to learn English at a young age. Many are shy about using it as it is a complicated language and they don't want to make mistakes. This was just an offshoot of the US being the dominant monetary economy for the last 200 years. In 50 years people might be learning Chinese as their second language.

I like how the size difference between the cameraman and Giorgos was so great that the background is practically straight up to the sky.

Nothing like reinforcing that bumpkin stereotype. "Hey look! A furner! We wanna here him talk those funny furner words!"

is staying at a hotel off campus good enough? If some rule really requires a committed player to fly back to Greece that's a typical NCAA face palm.

I don't know how far you have to go to "leave" your official visit but I saw Travis Hines tweet that you can't stay on campus even if you are committed to the school.

I'm surprised they're not having a family vacation in the US at least. Going all the way home just to send him back in ten days seems weird. And it's got to suck for a kid that big to ping pong int'l flights like that.

Theyre flying through chicago. Hard to go to a hot dog or burger joint here that's not owned by a Greek family.

Video of the Tribune article if you want to hear GT talk.

@DMRCyclones: The #Cyclones Greek hoops recruit Georgios Tsalmpouris is in Ames. What's his review? http://t.co/UqYgAhx2xo

Notes that he has not spoke with Niang yet and he isn't sure right now but he could stay loyal to ISU for all 4 years.

luckily that video timed out. randy's next questions were "have you ever eaten pizza?" and "do you know how to use a computer?"

Randy was acting like a teenage girl seeing her rock and roll idol for the first time, bad interview. But, Giorgos seemed thrilled to be coming to ISU and playing for Fred, hope he turns out to be a good one.

What an embarrassing interview by Peterson. It seemed like they picked somebody out of the stands and said to give it a try.

Will he play this year?

I'm sure Fred will start out using him strategically and see if he sinks or swims. Being without McKay for the first half of the season, he will more than likely see some opportunities. If anything, he would be a great late-game defensive sub. Just put your hands up kid.
