All correct. Mark Grace saved Dunston so many errors, but it was fun to watch Dunston throw. He wanted to put a hole in the 1st baseman's hand.
Streaky is very appropriate. Remember the "Shawn-o-meter"? It's what all other "o-meters" are based on. Classic.
Dunston should still be giving Grace a cut of his earnings. Grace damn near kept Dunston in the league. SD was wild with that throw to first
I'm not sure Grace's career is as well regarded as it should be. No man had more hits in the 90's than Grace. He also pulled in 4 gold gloves in that era.

Didn't matter how much time Dunston had, that ball was going to be thrown to 1st base as hard as he could throw it. I still remember SD throwing the ball into the stands and Harry Carey (well buzzed) just going off to Steve Stone. "Why does he throw it so hard?"
Interesting that it's not on here yet!
Cubs claimed Cole Hamels off the waiver wire late last night, but Phillies are expected to demand a lot in return for the lefty so he probably won't be coming here.

Can the team that puts players on the waiver wire demand monies and prospects? Or is it kinda like matching an offer sheet in FA kind if thing?
Basically by claiming him I think the Cubs get the first shot at offering up a trade. If Phils don't like it they can pull him back off waivers and wait until the offseason.
Phillies didn't like any of the offers they got before the trade deadline so they kept everyone they should have gotten rid of. Now I'm guessing they are hoping teams will be more desperate to give up something for them.
Gotcha. In that case I don't see Chicago offering up squat.
Probably nothing of huge value. How many years does Cole have on his current deal? He's a hell of a pitcher.
Looks like he's signed until 2018. A 2.42 ERA
Getting over $22 million per. Hopefully Philadelphia is looking at a salary dump with a mid level prospect in return.

I don't know how they can't. This will be the third straight year they've won fewer games than the previous year, and they've had that core of Utley, Rollins, Howard, and so on for over a decade. I couldn't believe they didn't try to break it up at the deadline and trade Hamels.
Signing Ryan Howard to that ****** contract they did was the greatest mistake that organizations ever made. It'll eventually cost Ryne Sandberg his job because Howards contract won't allow them to go out and get big names.
