Almost forgot someone I recently discovered thanks to "Live at Daryl's House"...and I know I'm way behind...

But Grace Potter and the Nocturnals...a couple of songs, "Goodbye Kiss" and "Things I Never Needed".

Also love "Paris (Ohh La La)" but it's not mellow.

I've noticed my musical tastes have mellowed out a ton recently. I still like to rock out from time to time but it's nice to just lay back and chill too.
Well Hiphopp, you outdid yourself in this thread. Nice to get introduced to some new tunes and bands.

First album I owned was Black Sabbath Paranoid (at 12 yrs old). Still one of my favorites.

Thanks brother! I tried to post mostly newer songs as well since there have been a few mellow songs recorded since the 70s!

No Pink Floyd mentions??? Half their songs qualify. Gonna say "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" -- the whole thing.

But here's an unusual one. Tool. Yes Tool. Sorry about the cheesy fanvid but it had the lyrics. It's worth the 11 minutes.

I haven't mentioned Floyd because you could pretty much play any Floyd album from start to finish and "mellow out" with your favorite elicit substance at any time.

However I do remember getting paranoid as **** the first time I watched "The Wall" with my college roommate Stony Dan.
