Just got done golfing at the Cyclone Wrestling Club Golf outing at Council Bluffs Country Club.

Troy Nickerson has taken a head coaching job.

Maybe we can convince Cael to join staff... it is apparent he is on a downward spiral at Penn State so he is probably just going to be looking for a paycheck soon... :psmile:

Rodriguez-Spencer and Boston were probably head recruited by Nickerson. Not a good time for this kind of change. We are 4 months until practice starts.

Varner will return in some capacity to I State after the Olympics. We will again dominate.

That is 2.5 years away. There is NO way one could know that today.

Nickerson will be missed. Here's to finding a quality replacement.

Is Rodriguez-Spencer and Boston attending summer school? It's been said unlimited times, NEVER choose a school because of a coaching staff member. There are coaches (Smith, Manning, Davis, Robinson & etc) who's been around a long time but assistant coaches move around all the time.

A good AD is always one step ahead of the game. Jamie is a good AD. No reason not to think they have already visited about the "what ifs" in Jake's career. I don't know that, but as a businessman, that's what I would be doing.

I think Nathan Boston, Dante Rodriguez and Logan Breitenbach are in Ames. Not sure on Rodriguez-Spencer.

Also heard we might have a senior level wrestler joining CWC soon

Hopefully they are in Ames and transitioning to college life. If Troy was the primary guy recruiting these young men, it was probably a blow but hopefully they understand it's part of the collegiate lifestyle of coaches. Young adults adapt well and they'll be fine.
