As far as annoying songs go this has to be at the top. Yet I find myself disappointed I haven't heard it yet with a Toure out there

Regarding Drogba as a lucky rabbit's foot, I'm thinking Klinsmann might have screwed up here. He should have taken Donovan just so the US could sub him in at the 60 minute mark. As he trots onto the field, everybody runs over and rubs his receding hair line & then just sit back and watch the goals pour in.

It really makes you wonder why he couldn't have been that guy that comes on in the 60th minute or whatever to add a little spark

I hope Portugal feels the same way...

Does anybody else think this could be an advantage for the US? Our MLS guys know what it's like to play mid-summer matches in places like Houston, Dallas, KC, and Chicago. Crap, even New York can suck in the summer with heat and humidity. If 85 degrees and 70% humidity is going to cause European teams to melt, I say bring it on.

Stat of the Night 4 of the 8 teams that have scored first in this World Cup have lost. That only happened 3 times in the whole of the 2010 World Cup.

Switzerland vs. Ecuador 11 am
France vs. Honduras 2 pm
Argentina vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina 5 pm

I believe those are the times, but I could be mistaken.

I believe those are the kick times as well. Coverage will start at 10:30 and 1:30 respectively on ABC for the first 2 and the last game coverage will start at 4:30 on ESPN or ESPN2

Edit - these are central times

The amount of goals scored has also far surpassed 2010 as well.

I think 28 goals have been scored this year compared to maybe 10ish from 2010.

Probably one of the factors to why European teams almost never win World Cups outside of Europe.

In some ways I agree with both of you guys. Donovan certainly seems like he has something left in the tank even if he would have been used as a late sub. With that said he didn't seem as dedicated to training with the team over the last couple of years and continuity will be key to the US success at this World Cup. (It still doesn't mesh that Donovan is left off the roster and Chandler, Green and Yedlin were selected. Donovan played more then those guys recently so it is a head scratcher trying to justify his exclusion.)

I believe this is the best collection of talent that we have sent to a World Cup since 2002, maybe slightly better. If they can come together they can do big things, so I am still willing to give Jurgen the benefit of the doubt at this point. Monday can't come soon enough. I'm Ready!
