That was some horrendous officiating at the end. Clippers just got hosed.
You have to wonder if that out of bounds call that went OKC's way was a makeup for missing the foul on that play.
That was a tremendous game. Only series I'm able to catch with any consistency, and I'm happy I am.
Just a brutal end to the game for Chris Paul, what the hell was he trying to do on their second to last possession? Just let them foul you there.
He claims that he was anticipating an intentional foul by Westbrook. Doc Rivers said in his postgame press conference that he wasn't sure what Paul was trying to do there. Terrible final 45 seconds for Chris Paul.
I know that reffing is a difficult, thankless task but what happened last night was beyond bad. On one play they missed twice - first, it was a foul on Barnes. Second, it looked to me like the ball went off Jackson. And the replay was unable to reverse either error. I understand the foul part; fouls aren't reviewable and I'm ok with that. But none of the replays showed conclusively who touched the ball last before it went out of bounds? Weak sauce.
I thought Bill Simmons was going to have a stroke. Funny thing is he called it before the game that these officials would screw this game up.
Doc did a great job in his press conference of shifting the post game focus to this one botched call rather than his team completely melting down over the last three minutes. Running down the shot clock to have Jamal Crawford shoot fade away 27 foot 3's might not have been the best way to go about it.
