This is just awesome. Fred continues to find diamonds in the rough. It really shows how CFH always has something up his sleeve.

I have no idea if he will redshirt, but I would be surprised if he was ready for D1 ball right away after playing that competition.

Even if his ceiling is isaiah austin, as much as I made fun of Austin I would take him.

Love this commitment. There's no downside to adding an immediately eligible 7-footer from Greece with one of your last two scholarships. He may be a year out from being a big contributor, but he looks skilled enough to get there, IMO. He's got range on his shot, and we all know that Fred likes do create mismatches based on that.

He looks pretty fluid for someone his height and decent feet.

If he doesn't work out here, you can get him back to Europe fairly easily and not tie up your scholarship forever.

plus breathers for george and company wouldn't hurt and might cut down on fatigue fouling

It's not impossible that he wouldn't redshirt. I don't see it happening. Wonder how this fits into team chem. Hard to bond with a guy that may not speak English very well.

The sooner he gets here, the sooner we can make him eat Hickory Park every night.

Why are some of you so down on this kid? Are you finding more information on him than the tiny amount the rest of us are seeing?

I'm not down on him. Realistically, he'll probably play about the same minutes as Edozie or Gbson this year.

I know it sounds dumb, which is why I said it's a long shot. But it can't hurt to have another Euro he can relate to.

I know what you're getting at, but the two countries are two different cultures. It would be like a guy from Mexico City getting signed in the UK for soccer and then being like "Well, I think they can get this guy from Omaha now because the two countries are close to one another geographically!"

I think a lot of it stems from the fact he's played a lot of U-17 competition in Greek leagues which is probably < most US high school competition. Although I do think he put up some pretty respectable numbers against their semi-pro league competition. If Fraschilla says he's a nice prospect, I agree. I'd rather have a 7'1" prospect/project than a 6'5" guy.

We simply won't know how good he is until we get to see him play against our guys and/or real D1 competition, but he looks like he has some decent feet and good range. If they can put some weight on him and he gives good effort, I see no reason he can't be a good player for us.

I'm not down on him I just watched his video and he is playing some pretty weak competition.

He is a great looking prospect with upside, but D1 basketball is tough.

It's hard enough to adjust to the D1 game when you are a top prospect playing elite competition in AAU and highschool.

Not to mention we will be very, very good next year and have a very talented frontcourt.

Has ISU ever had a 7 footer that amounted to anything? All I can think of are Skoglund and that Chris Alexander guy that was only here for like a semester. Maybe there was another guy from New Zealand or something that rode the bench?
