"In Loving Memory"

These stickers people put on their cars. Look, I'm real sorry for your loss, I am, but we all know people who have died. What, do you want people to run up and hug you? Are you really honoring that person by putting that sticker on your P.O.S. car and driving it to Walmart?

Funny. I do notice these types of things on cars that appear to frequent Walmart. Never once have I seen it on a Lexus or Audi. Seems like they just started popping up over the past 5 years because I can't remember these growing up.

I am much in favor of the Inuit tradition of mourning for a year and a day. On the last day, the deceased's possessions are given away, there's a party, and then you're done, and you go on with your lives. Much healthier.
But in reality is the mourning over or do they just say it's over on that last day? It's not the person can control how they feel. If my baby died while being born I am sure the mourning period would not be as long as your child dying when they turn 15. No way to rationalize that statement but how can you decide what day you're going to stop mourning?

A couple of other things I hate are the stupid stick figure things people put on the window. As a bachelor, I'm tempted to put a stick figure of me boning a blond stick figure with big boobs.

Also, sorority stickers on the back of the car. Thanks for letting me know there is a 90 percent chance you were easy in college.

The stick figure things seem to be a really good way to announce to pedophiles exactly what is in your car. It's like a menu for child molesters.

Especially the ones that actually list the names of their kids! How stupid are people?

Okay I have ask, was this your first thought when you saw these things or do your thinking eventually get to that point the more you saw them?

Nothing says I love and miss you man like putting an "in memory" sticker on your rusted out Nissan Sentra. The best is when you do the math and the person was 90+ years old.

This is exactly what I've thought when I see them. Mom runs into Wal-Mart to grab some groceries quick and leaves a couple kids in her car. Pedophile creeps through the parking lot and bam... there's the stick figures announcing to them that there could be kids inside.

No one in the general public gives a crap how many kids you have or how big your family is. Why the hell would you advertise it to everyone?

And what's with these roadside memorials? I mean, if your relative dies in a hospital are you going to go put up a memorial in the room they died in?

When I die, if anyone I know does any of this in my memory, I will haunt their lame *****.

How do you feel about a JO patch on a jersey?

I told my wife that if I ever die I don't want one of those stickers on a car with my name unless the car is like a Ferrari. So then everyone will think I was rich when I was alive. I agree with everything the OP said. I just don't want a car, like a 1990 Toyota, to be in memory of me.

I know a tattoo artist that says the majority of his business anymore is "in memoria" tattoos. North Omaha is keeping him busy

Those stupid stick family decals have actually created a new market for the anti-stick family decals.

I do the opposite. When my car dies I put a tattoo on one of my relatives or best buddies in loving memory of my car. If you see an old lady with a "In Loving Memory of Bill's 1998 Nissan Sentra" tattoo, that's my grandma.
