First I heard about Crean turning down post-season to find more talent.

I've heard that if Phil Jackson makes the call on Mike Woodson, Indiana will crean Crean and hire Mike.

dont know if this has been posted but i saw that we offered josh cunningham a scholarship does anyone know if we could get him or arent goin after him anymore

ISU was reportly cut from his list in late January, right as the Marvin Clark recruitment buzz heated up. Indiana was thought to be the favorite at that time. Though with the way both teams finshed the season has developed since then I suppose CFH could make him a call. The issue is he would like immediate playing time, and I don't see that happening in Ames year 1 or possibly 2 years. (He was also rumored to be holding out for possible a late Mich or MSU offer.)

You keep on saying this in regards to post recruits. Have you seen our roster? There are plenty of minutes readily available to post recruits.

I guess I am trying to look at it from his perspective as one of the last 4 star recruit. Nader/Hogue/McKay/Niang as being earmarked a majority the post minutes for the next two years, thus it'll be a climb for a Frosh to break the rotation. You are right there are minutes available, especially after next year but if he were to go somewhere else he may have a good chance to start earlier. It's my opinion, feel free to disagree.

He likely wouldn't even play over Edozie as a true freshman, let alone Hogue, Nader, Niang, and McKay.

Some of these aren't true "posts" but when has Fred ever been conventional that way. He plays the best available.
We lose a post that played 32 minutes a game. Despite what we have gotten away with this year with Ejim and Georges, you need more than two posts. Edozie barely played this year. Nader is not a post, Georges gets in foul trouble. Even if you want to count Hogue down there, there are minutes to be had by a top-100 recruit in Cunningham or the AAC rebounding leader.

Some recruits are looking for more than 15 minutes a game and that is about all I can imagine for a freshman coming in.
Sure, but almost everywhere has someone on the roster to compete with. Look at the other teams these top guys are considering- few will offer a post as good of chance at more than 15 minutes as we do.

No post minutes have been earmarked for anyone for the next two years. There will be two returning starters (one post, one wing) next year that are good bets to play big minutes again, and as of now, one (likely) returning starting post in two years.

Nader and McKay are a mid-major transfer and a JUCO who have yet to play a single minute for Iowa State. I'd be willing to put a chunk of change down that they will both play major minutes, but there's a big difference between competing with returning starters and competing with guys who have never earned a spot or played a single minute.

It's one thing for a player to think they won't be able to take minutes away from a returning starter. A recruit/transfer isn't worth a hill of beans if he doesn't think he can out compete other essentially unproven players for PT.

Darien Williams, Class of 2015 6'9" forward from IWCC, picked up an offer from USC yesterday and is also hearing from KU and Louisville. He is from the LA area IIRC. As an athletic forward that also shoots well on 3Ps, he would be a big-time get to go with Georges (and McKay).

Pretty sure that the staff knows about him, as he's been to at least one of our games. Would be a good pickup for the 2015 class, depending on what comes up. To bad we couldn't get him in 2014.
