#4 Iowa State vs. #1 Kansas Semifinal Discussion

ALL CEDAR RAPIDS RESIDENTS (and everyone else). START FLOODING FOX 28 KFXA FACEBOOK PAGE. I'm the first one on the list.

https://www.facebook.com/kfxafox28

As of a half hour ago the ISU Athletics Facebook page posted that they would let everyone know what channel it's on when they know.

Fox 28 has been replying to posts on their page saying they are being told Big 12 Network, ESPN3, or ESPNU and that they unfortunately do not have a say in the matter but would let everyone know if anything changes.

Maybe they really don't have this assigned yet.

Why is there a twitter parody account called @Big12Refs in which he basically talks about what he does to help KU win? It is because the KU officiating in the conference has become so bad it is almost comical.

It's because losing fans have access to create Twitter accounts and losers like to blame refs instead of their team.

Twocoach, Have you seen the dead ball three?

"Why do you continue to bring this up? The refs obviously made the correct call. ISU fans obviously ******** over nothing again. It's time you losers get over it." - twocoach

Where did I EVER say they were bias in the KSU game? Can you please show me that? (Another technique - Putting Words in my Mouth)

I said they are bias for KU. Refs are not bias against ISU. I think they called the game a lot closer, but not one-sided. And most games I feel that way except KU games.

twocoach obviously said something, but nobody could hear it over his fellow KU fans booing...

I will state it over and over and some day you guys may actually notice that it is true; the more aggressive team draws more calls against the opposition. EVERY TIME. Kansas is almost always the more aggressive team in every game they play. When they haven't been this year (@Texas, @KSU, @OSU, @WV, @Fla) they "didn't get the calls they normally do". And shocker, they lost all of those games, not because they "didn't get the calls they normally do" but because they didn't play as aggressive as they normally do.

EVERY tourney upset for Kansas in the last 10 years is the same thing; they come out, play flat and slow with no aggression and get BEAT by the team that played more aggressively. All of a sudden a flat Kansas team finds themselves getting called for a bunch of fouls because the more aggressive team is attacking them and taking it to them. AGAIN, not because they "didn't get the calls they normally do" but because they didn't play as aggressive as they normally do.

Go watch any game that is on right now. Identify which team seems to the eye to be playing with more energy and speed and count the number of fouls called on each team for the next five minutes. I can 100% guarantee that the team that looks more aggressive is getting the "benefit" of the calls.

You assume that it is the jersey getting the play but it's not; it's the style of play. Every team with the same aggressive style of play gets the same calls. Ohio State's aggressive defense? Gets away with murder as ISU witnessed in the tourney last year. Mizzou's "40 minutes of hell" back when Mike Anderson was there? It was really "40 minutes of fouling".

ISU is consistently bringing in higher caliber players and Hoiberg will continually ramp up the aggression of his system. Why? Because it GETS CALLS and wins games. Will you suddenly start to say that ISU is getting the calls because of their jersey? No, it's just the style of play. Will teams that ISU beats start to say that ISU is getting the calls because of their jersey? Yes, because fans watching their teams lose don't like to admit they got outplayed by a better team. They want to believe that they were good enough but unseen forces kept them from having the chance to prove it.

KU gets calls in conference games. They don't in tournament games. That is why they struggle in tournament games a lot. Every team gets bad calls and every team is going to remember those that screwed them the most.

4th technique - Change the subject

Still have not given any evidence that refs are not biased for KU. (in Big 12 games)

the heck for some reason my last post just quoted twocoach

Anyway, twocoach I think kane would disagree with your opinion. He is aggressive and never get the calls.

Why do you guys even try with twocoach. He comes over here to see if he can get any reactions, and when he does, he just keeps posting. Just leave him alone, and he will eventually go away.

Maybe Kane will learn that you can't just aggressively run directly though the opposition when they have been standing in the same spot for a while. What did he have, three charges today? That's hard to do. They barely call charges these days. I only recall seeing three charges called in one other game I have watched this year, let alone having all three on the same guy.

I come over here to respond to posts I read, not to get reactions. I do end up having some interesting conversations on the topics I post on with a few folks.

Maybe if he had the great and powerful Bill Self coaching him, he would aggressively run directly through the opposition while slipping some cash in the refs pocket and then would have had two free throws.

That must be why he is third in the conference in free throw attempts behind just Staten and Smart and ahead of any Kansas players.
