#4 Iowa State vs. #1 Kansas Semifinal Discussion

Would have rather played anyone but Kansas. Shocker, I know.

I do not have any hope of winning. Of course it's possible, but I'm strongly assuming we lose. Hopefully that win vs KSU locked our 3 seed.

This right here^^^! Okie State was KU'd by officials. Don't know if they would have won....but Black and Wiggins WWF'd Nash at the end. That's four free throw attempts. And the Wiggins attempted take down of Nash from behind bordered on F-1.

Are you talking about the play where Nash undercut Wiggins and Wiggins touched him ion the shoulder on the way down and then landed on Nash's leg? You do understand that this is an uncalled foul on NASH, right? You cannot slide underneath a guy in the air. That's a foul. Not even questionable.

Seriously, how many games in a row are you guys going to just rant about the officials before you start to understand that your slant on this clouds the way you see the game? Watching the ISU game and then reading the game thread on here as it proceeded was the most hilarious ous thing I have ever seen. Anyone who contacted an ISU player and wasn't called was (fill in the expletive). Any foul called on ISU, no matter how glaringly obvious, was (fill in the expletive). Go back and look at that threat. There was literally only one foul called on ISU in the entire 2nd half that ANYONE thought was the correct call. That's just embarrassing.

Maybe you will catch on to the pattern which is, when an ISU game is close, fans freak out about the refs and how they are calling the game. When ISU is kicking butt, no one cares how the refs are calling it.

Really wish this were an afternoon game. At 6:00 I'll be on a flight from Oklahoma City to Detroit, and Delta doesn't allow video streaming on their flights.

A KU fan trying to rationalize that KU doesn't get calls. You are blind. Every other fan in the conference knows that refs are bias toward KU. Go have this discussion with your KU friends, not us.

This is the call that most are referring to:

https://vine.co/v/Mb63JTUT3ip

If you think that Nash undercut Wiggins on that then you are so freaking bias it isn't funny.

The uncalled foul on Black when they originally called out of bounds on OSU, but reversed it was another one.

The third big one was the blocking foul called on Nash where he was set before the KU player even crossed the FT line and they still called the foul on Nash. That was Nash's fourth foul and was huge because Nash was having a big game.

Refs continually make calls for KU especially in close games down the stretch that give KU that little extra edge.

It is a running joke pretty much among every fan base in the conference. In a close game, fans will say "Here come the KU refs" and then it usually happens.

People were calling for investigations in th ISU-KSU game thread for crying out loud. At what will you realize that it's really just not a big conspiracy and that, in fact, ISU have actually committed fouls in a game?

Did anyone say that ISU did not commit fouls in a game? No. What we are saying is that refs are bias toward KU. There is a huge difference.

At what will you realize that KU gets calls that the rest of the teams in the Big 12 don't get (and that KU fans mercilessly boo the refs even when the most obvious calls are made against the Jayhoks)?

Nice takedown going after the ball on that one for KU, you're an idiot if you think he didn't do anything. Absolute joke of an officiating job. But carry on, standard for KU in our conference.

Also, I am not saying there is a big conspiracy. I am saying that the refs are biased. Whether they realize it or not, they are. Refs should NEVER be biased in ANY situation EVER. It doesn't matter whether you are the national champions or haven't won a game. Refs jobs are to be unbiased and the problem is that they aren't.

My biggest problem is that they are not accountable to the media like coaches are. I think the refs should have to be questioned by the media and if they know that they will have to be asked questions about plays like these then they will be more conscious when they are making calls.

I love how Nash throws his head back and his arms in the air despite nothing actually TOUCHING his head. Sorry, but the Oscars were last month. It has gotten to the point with not just Smart but ALL of OSU players where the refs are on to their flopping trying to fool the refs. When the refs see it, they are almost dead set AGAINST calling a foul, even if one actually happened. The announcers made reference to the "boy who cried wolf" and talked specifically about the refs reviewing the tapes of Smart's phantom foul he drew against Kane @ISU. Looks like they have officially gone to the well one too many times because the refs aren't going to let them benefit from the flopping any more.

Maybe you can include a video of Perry Ellis' 4th foul where he touched a shooter on the hip with his finger and was called for a foul?

Last year ESPNU showed the SEC tournament when the Big 12 tournament was blacked out.

I'd be pretty surprised if those in Cedar Rapids aren't out of luck tomorrow.
